Resetting PRAM and NVRAM
Shut down the computer.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
Turn on the computer.
Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.
Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
Release the keys.
Your computer's PRAM and the NVRAM are reset to the default values. The clock settings may be reset to a default date on some models.

i guess its worth a shot to see if it at least helps you, i just can't wait to look at my monitor & not wonder why my greens are so flourescent & my blues are purple lol

Changed nothing... :(

My friend is as well but what strikes me is that he's able to tell me what colors are what on a screen. I.e. he knows that Photobooth's icon is red and such.

don't color blind people see colors but not necessarily the correct ones? I believe my friend is colorblind & only has problems distinguishing between blue/purple, i could be wrong though

Is he looking for a notebook because my MBP 13" would look fine to him. :p

i know right, lol, i'm really hoping the new one i get looks better, i'm thinking of taking a stroll down to the Apple store (granted its 45 minutes away) to check out the new MBP's on display & see if maybe its just my eyes lol (or maybe like people are saying thats the way its meant to be seen?)

guess i will see this week

Yes, I've spoke to a number of reps about the situation and they've made it clear that there should be a difference than the older MB 13" models but two of them said that the difference that is there that you're seeing may not be the right difference.

As for right now I'm going to stick to using my external display. Thank you HP!

BTW: If you bring it into the store and they have normal looking screens + deny your screen being different consider using control + two finger swipe upwards on the trackpad. Zoom in to an obnoxious level on something that doesn't match in color until they see the difference side by side.

That's what I'm planning on doing if something like that happens. :D:D:D

i hope that doesn't happen to you but please please please youtube that ****, that will be hilarious!

Welp, I went to the Apple store today and yesterday and all of the MBP13's had a 9CBD or 9C9F screen, and the links on Google certainly did have a blue/purple tint to them--something I'm not used to on my Windows computer. However, right now I'm on a Mac Mini with a Dell 2007WFP display, which is an S-IPS screen and considered one of the best, and the Google links also look blue/purple. They don't in Windows however.

I think the reason things looks different to a lot of people is because prior, most people were likely using an inferior display that literally couldn't display some of the colors that the new one can.

well i just called & talked to tech support, he had me reset my vram & hardware, etc, but colors are still off, calibrated again with no luck so now i'm going to try my luck with a replacement

however, after booting up after clearing my vram i noticed that about an inch to an inch & 1/2 of the bottom of my screen was a little "warmer" i guess u could say, he immediately recommended a replacement, so i'm boxing my baby up tonight and calling Fedex tomorrow

i'm crossing my fingers i get a perfect one this time :)

now i have to do the hard part with waiting all over again  no big deal if its worth it

good luck to everyone else & i'll report back when my new MBP arrives hopefully later in the week

Good luck to you my friend. I just hope yoy don't end up with a replacement with another problem, like dead pixels. I've been there, done that and each time I get a replacement, there's always a peoblem with it, making me wish I kept the original.

Colour acuracy is something I can sacrifice to having a dead pixel free monitor.

Again, good luck to you.

Oh man, you just gave me some bad memories. When I was young and numb minded I decided it was a good idea to get 1 dead pixel replaced on my Sony PSP. I was shipped one with +5 dead pixels. Was shipped another one with +10 dead pixels. Then I just lived with it afterwards.

Same thing with my Sony Cybershots. First one's screen was off which I decided to get replaced. Second one had two dead pixels dead smack in the middle of the screen. Thankfully the third one was fine.

I think it's referred to as colour deficient these days, fully colour blind people would only see in monochrome. People who are colour deficient only have issues with certain colours and even then it may only be with certain shades of that colour.

Mine just arrived and I appear to have got the 9CBD unit. Looks nice, though I can understand the poster that mentioned it looks a bit washed out.

Need to wait till its dark later to check backlights but concerned I might have a duff one in the lower left side. I keep noting a flickering in the Safari icon on the dock.

Returned a 9CBD (due to a flimsy keyboard), and got a 9CA1. I think the contrast on the 9CA1 is a little lower than that of the 9CBD, but the colors look more accurate (blues appear blue, and not fluorescent purple, etc).

9CA1 shows up as a "B133EW07 V0", which is an AU Optronics screen.

9CBD and its beautiful. Definitely more blue than my 2.33GHZ 15" MBP, but who cares. I can calibrate it if I decide not to be lazy. I can't believe how rich the color is, and how bright the display is in general. I currently have brightness set to 5 or so points below max.

Would I still have prefered matte? Yes. But c'est la vie. Here's hoping it doesn't give me catastrophic eye strain.
:D:):confused::mad:

9C9E Here seems to good, a bit lower on brightness then my last 13 uMB but still seems good :) What are the issues people having with this one ?

The main issue seems to be a highly contagious technological tourette's syndrome. Seriously, I thought I complained a lot until the post-wwdc complaint barrage began. I feel positively optimistic by comparison.

all i did was change the gamme to 2.2 and i think my 9C9F looks amazing, have not seen a 9CBD or w/e but i cant imagine it being any better.
