Sure, because side by side comparison means nothing LOL
At the end of the day, my new 11 Pro works and has data speeds where my Qualcomm X doesn’t. If you have so much free time on your hands, draw graphs and tables and whatnot HAHA
i don't, but i never said i offered up data points, you did.

Side by side comparison means nothing? Odd thing to say. My 11 Pro has 1 bar of signal next to an X with 3 bars; the 11 Pro breaks up / has static / drops calls in that same general area, while the X doesn't. That definitely means nothing to me. For sure.

It’s called being sarcastic.

I didn’t offer any data points. You’re confused.

Might wanna work on that delivery, then. Definitely didn't come across as such.
You might need to work on your reading skills, as well as quoting skills, as you didn’t read or quote my whole sentence.

my apology, when you quoted me i thought you were jkozlow3 who i was quoting.

but anyways, as i stated previously, jury still out, for every "my 11 is better than x reception" there is someone stating opposite. purely conjecture at this point until someone do a side by side comparison. you guys going around saying ur 11 is better than ur x doesn't really say much. since a number of on field variables can contribute to the differences like upgraded cell towers, congestion. etc

Well I will say either 13.1.3 or Att carrier update to 38.1 fixed my email notification causing my calls to abruptly end. Hopefully a resolution is found for issues still out there. (&&hopefully my issues don’t begin to reoccur lol)

Well, of course! It depends on a carrier, bands, etc. I only say what I experience on T-Mobile in NYC. Somebody with AT&T and Verizon might have some different results.
In my case the 11 Pro is a big improvement over a Qualcomm X, which was a big surprise since I previously also had an Intel X and 8 Plus (Intel as well) and both were unusable.

big improvement in what, speed or coverage or both? the speed no doubt, probably due to the 4x4 MIMO. but on coverage everywhere i looked folks are saying its equal or worse.

Not really data just conjecture you guys have added, data points would be screenshots of speed test and signal strength of both 11 pro and qcom x in different location testing.

although i do believe the intel xmm 7660 has a leg up on data speed compare to the already 2 year old qualcomm x16. jury still out on signal strength in worse case scenario bad/low reception area, and so far no one on reddit/apple forum/ or even here to prove anything concrete otherwise.

Strongly disagree. How does a screenshot of a speed test prove anything? Every single person can obtain a good speed test every now and then. How does that prove that we aren’t dropping calls? Or that we aren't having to toggle airplane mode to restore data connectivity?

I swear, this forum reminds me more and more of the movie Idiocracy every time I visit.

Big improvement in everything. Most importantly coverage. The Qualcomm X struggles a lot on the NYC subway and I had to use the cellular toggle a lot. I don’t touch it anymore. In my office I no longer need to connect to WIFI either.
Frankly speaking, why wouldn’t you get this phone and try it for yourself? What’s the point of reading what some strangers are saying on Reddit? You can always return it if it’s not working for you.
I also don’t understand the point of this conversation if you base your opinion on some anecdotal evidence that’s not even your experience. Get the phone and then we can talk about some real world usage.

funny cause you mention data points and all you provide was anecdotal, that felt more like that movie idiocracy more than anything else 😂

because my x works fine on upper east side, midtown, and occasionally downtown whenever i go, although im on verizon so maybe thats why i never had bad coverage, when i had tmobile i got deadspots every other block.

i'm waiting for next year's iphone which will have qualcomm again, so moot point buying the 11 pro now when i'm upgrading next year, plus i'm not a big believer in buying something just to try it out to see if i like it. i feel thats a waste of my time and apple's time and resource. on top of that and i also just dropped couple grands on a new instrument credit card kinda maxed out atm lol

i had to call Apple again so I could get the phone swapped and they wanted to get it back to live build 13.1.3 just to do some final tests. I did this, and also set it up as a new device so no baggage was inherited. The first calls were ok and didn’t drop, raising my hopes. After that though, the calls started dropping, and I also noticed that, when a call dropped, I got some loud static immediately before the break, applications became unresponsive, and I could not scroll up or down in the settings app. I could go back to home screen and swipe left and right but could not interact with any apps. Only by hitting the sleep button and then swiping up again did the apps start responding again.

Having to wait before I can exchange the 11 Pro And do some more diagnostics checks. Maybe there is an issue that their engineers are working on and I have to allow my phone to do some further, detailed testing. They won’t hint whether they think it is a software or hardware issue. I will update when I get some results and feedback.

I also had my Pro Max checked out by Apple support (remote) diagnostics. They said my hardware is all good. I dont really know what to do. I would understand if they had problems with 5G, because its a new tech. But it happened because Apple is less and less tech pioneer and leader of the industry. They became brand name, fashion product.

3rd round of diagnostics have been uploaded to Apple, including dropped call events. Apparently, the incidents they are investigating are not just on 11 Pro/Pro Max, but also other models. Logically, this would point to a software issue rather than new hardware being the problem.

Is anyone else getting what I am? Not dropped calls but static and moments of silence. It comes back and then goes out again.

I’ve had the same issue and previously I had VoLTE disabled, just cellular>cellular data options then hadn’t it enabled for data only. Since iOS 13.1.3, when I go there the only option is to turn LTE on or off and VoLTE is gone completely. Anybody know where it went? I’ve reset network settings so far and still can’t get it to show up. Thanks!

Looks like the modem firmware has been updated yet again, 1.02.14 and Verizon carrier 39.0, 11 Pro.

Haven’t had a chance to test many calls yet, my AirPods still snap and crackle so I’m still dealing with that bull**** though.

My dropped call issue was greatly improved after the last SIM swap, hopefully combined with the latest firmware and carrier revisions call quality improves even more.
