13.2 officially dropped. Maybe this will resolve our issues?

Hopefully it will help some people. Though the update, and updated carrier settings have made no difference for my issues. Not that I’m surprised really, the continuing back-and-forth with Apple, sending logs and so on certainly suggests the issue is ongoing for now.

I’m giving 13.2 a try since I only got to 3rd beta and missed the 4th before Apple support put me back to 13.1.3. Will see if I get a carrier update 39.1 as well although iPad Pro cellular is still on 39.0 even though I updated it to 13.2. Maybe the .1 is an IP Pro specific carrier update.

Installed update, signal bars were full for an hour. Went to sleep, woke up, and the bars are raging again. 11 Pro Max 256 GB is priced 1776 USD in my country. Its 4G modem is not working properly in the year 2019. Apple became fashion brand. No more innovation, or reliability.

Had 1 dropped call since installing 13.2, although this was with WiFi calling enabled. Have switched that off now so will see how it goes. The phone has now started running warm on the back however. No apps running, just a phone call. Phone is still warm 15 mins after call has ended. Room temp is cool as well. What a complete dogs dinner this phone is!

Also, the battery has drained from 100% to 68% in 4 hours. No apps running, no sim inside. I am so disappointed with this phone.

Using 13.2 and still getting dropped calls, each drop preceded by some strange digital distortion type noise. I am also getting calls that go silent for a few seconds but then the call comes back. Apple are calling me tomorrow to find out how I’ve been getting on. Hopefully I will hear they’ve got a fix in the pipeline!

Why has this not made the front page on macrumors? It’s a HUGE deal!

Exactly the same here

I haven't had a dropped call in a week. I have phone calls that last 30 minutes or longer too. No issue. I'm wondering if the carriers were upgrading towers for 5G here which is what the issue ay have been?

Same for my friend who was having issues too.

Because it's not affecting nearly enough people. Most of this thread is a handful of the same people having issues that keep posting.

In years past when people had issues like this, threads were MUCH larger than this one 5 weeks after launch day. Case in point, look at this thread linked below. iPhone 7 "no service" issues affecting mainly Verizon users. The thread started the day after iPhone 7 launch day September 17, 2016. By October 30 (today's date), the thread was 65 pages long. This thread is 9 pages long on October 30. BIG difference in number of affected users.

True, but this forum is also full of fanboys who will sing the praises of a polished turd if it has an Apple logo on it. When I was on the phone with Apple support I was told by more than one rep that they were flooded with calls complaining about call quality issues, dropped calls, and other bugs. One lady even said her own phone was dropping calls. I’m surprised they admitted that but the one lady sounded tired and fed up. I’ve had every iPhone since the 4S (skipped the XS tho) and I’ve never had an experience this terrible. This phone is a downgrade from my X.

The XS was even worse than the 11/Pro - good thing you skipped it. I had to toggle airplane mode often on my XS (as did my wife) to restore data connectivity. I haven't had to do that once with my 11 Pro in 5 weeks. So for me, I have no complaints with the 11 Pro and it's a definite upgrade over the XS. Not doubting that some people are affected with issues - I'm just not one of them thankfully!

To add to this, Apple Support told me that a lot of people were affected, and not just on the new phones. 13.2 would fix the dropped calls for some, but not all. From what I can see, the only thing 13.2 does is try to hang onto a dropping call for longer. I was also told to expect a bug fix release soon.

I think that the issue is more widespread that it appears on this thread because calls do not always drop, or take a random amount of time before dropping, so many people do not even realise they have the issue, or at least put it down to normal call dropping reasons.

Blimey, I’m glad I skipped the X/S then because having to flick airplane mode, or reboot my iPhone to maintain data on my Pro Max is driving me batty.
Maybe it was overdue, this is the first iPhone I’ve ever had a problem like this with. Heck it’s the first iPhone (beyond a couple of actual hardware issues, which I don’t really count - impossible 0% failure rate and all) I’ve ever had an issue with, certainty the first software related issue I’ve had that’s driving me round the bend (not counting betas for obvious reasons).

This does not happen if I turn off LTE and VOLTE and switch it to 3G only

People keep saying they are turning off VoLTE on 13.2 and that option doesn't exist. Please state correct information here to avoid confusion and headache.

Not true - depends on the carrier. Verizon still allows VoLTE to be disabled in 13.2 for example.

It will depend on the carrier, some, for whatever reason may only give the option of 4G with VoLTE or 3G. While others will still have the two 4G options, one with and one without VoLTE.

I still have serious issues with data when I enable VoLTE, yet 4G data without VoLTE is perfect.
