Will the new macbook pro's be more expensive...?

So I am completely new to mac's and I decided to get a Macbook Pro, but I'm waiting for the new one to come out. I decided I'd get the 13" with the better processor and a few other upgrades for about $2100AUD which I am happy to pay.
But I was just curious if when the new ones come out, to get the same thing with the same specs will be much more because it's new...?
Does anyone know anything? Do they follow some sort of pattern or something, thanks. :)

Typically Apple's product pricing stays the same regardless of new model or not. If anything, there might be a difference of $50-100 but probably not. Apple finally decided to cut prices last year, I don't see them pushing up the prices back up.

Apple would never raise the price of a new product.

however, I highly doubt that the 13" will get an i core processor, id bet just a speed bump, also, the 2.53 is a waste of money, if anything just get the base model and upgrade the HDD and RAM.

ALSO, I highly doubt that the new MBPs will be released before WWDC so you should just by now IMO

Apple MUST put an i core processor in to the new 13" mbp. If you look at the recent market there are plenty of notebooks with i core processors in the same price range than the mbp. They would lost a lot of customers if they just throw out "refreshed" 13" with a bumped c2d, and don't forget, this processor will be discontinued soon.

Well---apple always sells at a premium.
however, the gap seems higher than before. a high end sony is what 1400?
seems like the price will stay the same or maybe even drop a bit in time.

This is terrible advice. Hold out for a week - 3 weeks to see if Apple puts something new out or you will be disappointed. If not then buy the current MBP.

The very 1st Powerbook cost $2500 .... current MBP 2.8Ghz $2299 :apple: not a lot has changed

It's always difficult to know whether to buy or wait when a refresh is likely close. If you're not desperate for a new Mac, then it won't hurt to see how things pan out over the next couple of weeks. I'm due to upgrade too and have decided to hold firm until the refresh, you'll almost certainly get more bang per bucks and who know what other little features might be included...

With all these rumors that the new MBP is coming...

I'm a little upset that I didn't wait a little longer to get the new MBP. 2 weeks ago I got my MBP 15 in, 4gb RAM, 2.53 GHz and 250GB HD. And payed around $2000 for the whole thing. I bought this machine mainly to do Graphic Designing work, and I must say, I love it. But do u guys think that the new MBPs are going to be that drastically faster and better???

Even if they came out with a new MBP this week, I don't think I would be able to return mine anymore for the new one.

Just because new units come out doesn't mean that your machine runs slower.

I get that. I'm just a little disappointed in myself for not waiting a little longer for the new ones. I mean, I'm going to be doing a lot of web design, graphic design work, and I was just wondering if the new ones would do a better job, and if the changes would be that drastic. But I guess I can live with the MBP I have now. It still better than any laptop I had before.

there is no doubt that apple will put out an "i5" in their 13". Will they put an I7? Would be interesting...

Honestly, man, these types of threads are ridiculous. Stop doubting your rig.

I would say that by your indication of your line of work, I on occasion do similar with my business/work 15" 2008 MBP. It's ~2 years old, an older processor, only 4GB 667 DDR2 memory (work prevents us from swapping this to 800mhz) - and I have zero complaints. Now, would some tasks finish a couple of seconds faster on my 13" MBP 2009 model, I'm sure it would. Throughout a work day, would those 1-2 seconds per task amount to something tangible - sure. It would amount to a couple of saved minutes at the end of the day. Would I be twice as productive if I had the latest and greatest model - even the upcoming 2010 one everyone is drooling over? I would like to think so - but in all honesty - probably not. Most of my time is spent in Xcode and I've noticed little difference between my faster newer model, and my work model. Again, a second or two here and there - maybe - most of which I attribute to my SSD - not the processor.

Unless you are doing massive video encoding where you could see that 5,10,20% processor increase in realtime, then perhaps. But the type of work you describe - you will be just fine for years to come with your current MBP.

So sleep a little easier and when this one seems like it "slows down" you can buy the next best thing. Because one thing is guaranteed - this won't be the last MBP refresh.

At what time does Apple update the site when things are newly released or refreshed?

When does Apple do updates to their site when they are releasing new products or updating old ones? At around what EST or PST do they normally do this?

I'm making an announcement here that we will NOT see a MacBook Pro update next week. This is a inside news, and please don't ask me how I get it, just wait and you will see. Seriously.

my word against yours ;)

Love it !

I didn't know the new models were coming when I bought it. No need to be a smartass, thanks

are you complaining ?

he is not being a smartass.....but pointing out a obvious point....did you want him to console you ?

if you want a hug....just ask.

It's getting like Engadget in here! And from a Demi-God too. Is this why Arn turned the forums off!?

I do the same kind of work as you and until now I had been using my 2006 Macbook Pro. Only problems were with editing 1080p video, but that obviously has nothing to do with you and your mbp that's 2 weeks old.
