These prices are just ridiculous and do not justify the lackluster hardware.
Multiply all the USD prices by 1.3 (current USD/CAD rate), and the CDN Apple prices are bang-on.
Yes I figured £400 would be added to the 15" £1999 model, but it is now £2699 far exceeding what I expected in total. Of course I wasn't factoring in price hikes in the US to be added on top of the brexit tax, but even I am struggling to justify paying these prices. And you know how much I love buying everything Apple makes.
As a fellow U.K. owner of all things Apple, these new pricings coming from Apple be it here with the Mac Pro, iPhone, watch, etc. has made me realise it's simply going to get worse. If you ain't diving in mate, then the future of mac sales is doomed.

Had Apple doubled up the RAM to 16GB and storage to 512GB on the base models I could have 'just' about accepted it.
To be blunt; I can not see any pricing stabilising, only further increases expected again when Apple feels it's greed wallet wanting more.
It's all too much for me. I'm bowing out of the MacBook line and I shan't be renewing my iMac either next year.
Makes me feel I'm not alone with these thoughts...... and what hurts more is "I don't think Apple really cares".
I don't think the world sheds many tears about the Brexit voters. The world doesn't owe the UK anything. It isn't just Apple who are increasing prices here. Expect more of this over the next 12 months. Suck it up.
I'm curious, were are all these trolls coming from? it's as if the are en masse![]()
As a general rule of Macrumors I find it sometimes can be best for ones mental state to stay away from the forum for a few weeks after a new product is released. Can't please everyone and new released tend to disappoint some who want to voice their anger over and over and get others to feel the same way.
Not a troll guys, Apple fanboy for 10 years with ip7, ipad pro12.9, 5k imac and same for rest of my family and business.
Just *****ed off with Apple who are now ripping people off with their greed. Game Over
So, according you your post:- Even though I post here regularly and help a number of people because I own and have used for a great number of years 'every' Apple product, I am in your eyes a troll simply because I was giving my own opinion in how the pricing is effecting me and I assume a good number of other UK users.I'm curious, were are all these trolls coming from? it's as if the are en masseIf you just come here to post your hate, just don't. This forum is for people who actually buy stuff. Complaining is one thing. Being on the fence, and complaining about it is what everyone is doing. This is different.
You see this on Amazon also (actually, they changed that a bit i've noticed, but of course there's ways around it).

I may end up getting rid of my 12.9 Pro and Air 2 when their respective updates appear.
If it all ends to this then it'll be bye bye next iPhone and Apple Watch. I may as well sell the Apple TV and leave the camp completely.

I'm not complaining, repeat I am not complaining... I am simply saying these prices will effect my purchase power.
No other agenda.
The pro name could finally designate a machine intended for pro (budgets). Not a pro? buy a mac book.
These astoundingly high prices for these new pro machines were telegraphed much earlier when the mac books with stretch pricing themselves were released last year which telegraphs what iPhone 8 will cost as well.
Google Pixel is looking good.

I don't see the big deal with the prices. If I could pick the MacBook Pro I would want, I agree with Jonathan Morrison and would want the "15 space gray MBP for $2400. That's pricey but I get a minimum five years of usage. That's less than $500 per year. While people continue to pay $800+ smartphones that they sell off for half price after a year. An iPhone or iPad don't have have any ports or file system to do anything simple like transfer files from a USB thumb drive or memory card.
The MBP would also offer me a better productivity, gaming, and media consumption experience without smudging up the screen all the time and needing a kickstand. Oh yeah, OSX is superior to Windows and iOS. People saying they need "5.5 phablet for their weaker vision. Try "13 or "15. And maybe people can stop looking at their phones after getting their browsing fix. I realized how much I miss using a laptop daily that I stopped using my smartphones as of late since I just prefer browsing on a notebook more.
There is better value with MacBooks in the longer run. Even the $1500 non-Touch Bar "13 MacBook will offer better value. $300 per year usage for half a decade's worth. It is only a twice per decade decision to buy a new MacBook while people buy new phones every year only to lose value on them faster.
