I will miss the current TouchId/home button sensor.
Think about this use case.
There you are slowly waking up and your alarm goes off. With the current design, you can find the button without having to open your eyes. You can find it by touch alone. Perfect for another 10 minutes in bed.
Having to open your eyes to find the cancel/snooze control is IMHO a retrograde step.
Not being able to do this in the future will probably make me delay upgrading for at least 2 if not 3 years.
Ok, you think so from a drawing. Those are ugly mockups. Hope Apple has something way nicer planned. The new Samsung looks nicer imho than this.
Yes, and the metal frame is included in these measurements. It actually is 2.5 mm.4mm != minimal
This is nice.... Wonder how close to reality this turns out to be.
An iPhone7+ sized screen in an iPhone7 size shell, really nice!
Its mind boggling how they are still managing to use the same basic design for this device for nearly 3 years...![]()
Exactly! If you're going to shoot 3D/AR, you'll need to shoot landscape (like every other video camera out there, people!!!), which means you need the cameras separated on the horizontal axis when in that position. Perfect. Most photos are taken in landscape mode, not portrait. Seems reasonable to rotate them.

Why not?I wish concepts like this could end because they're nowhere realistic, how the **** is the earphone cut out going to make its way through the display and not interface the apps for example? That's not something Apple would do
It is impossible if you are talking about a 16:9 display aspect ratio as in the 6s/7, it won' t be if it is a aspect ratio like 19:9 or something. So basically a display that has the same width as the 6s screen, but is taller.I got my digital calpiers out and it's physically impossible to fit a 5.7" screen in the body of my iPhone 6S. Some people are dreamers....
Hands down the most beautiful implementation I have seen. If it's possible to make then damn it's perfect. I could see them being able to fit sensors and camera in that super tiny bezel, only difficult thing would be the speaker.
What other design do you want them to use? A triangle or circle? Curved edges just for the sake of being different? Its mind boggling how they are still managing to use the same basic design for this device for nearly 3 years...![]()
Obviously it's a human design flaw that needs correcting, and we will shortly evolve to have vertically aligned eyes.Exactly! If you're going to shoot 3D/AR, you'll need to shoot landscape (like every other video camera out there, people!!!), which means you need the cameras separated on the horizontal axis when in that position. Perfect.
By the way: Stop vertical video!!!
I've got to be honest & say that I'm not kidding myself.
I'm absolutely convinced that the new iPhone will blow us and every other smart phone away.
I believe Apple will release a phone that will be the equivalent of the iPhone 4's release in 2010.
I feel that they extended the life of the 6/S shape for an extra year, to ensure that this year's iPhone will totally amaze anyone that gets near it.
I'm ready and my wallet is ready.
I'm sorry if that goes against the doomer's POV that seems prevalent of late round here.
Actually I'm not, it's my opinion & im happy with it.
Roll on September.
