I just tired this - the person who answered answered with the word "All our systems are down please call back."

Quick conversation - the upshot being that all systems have been down for a couple of days (hard to believe!)...

Anyone else been successful today?

So - they were talking total rubbish - just processed the change, but it won't become active until I am 30 days from end of contract. Can't be arsed to argue over 6 days....

They are still claiming their systems are down? They told me that yesterday afternoon and said call back after 7pm. Kind of lame.

I didn't intentionally speak to retentions - mainly because I am so close to my upgrade day anyhow. I dialed 402 and went from there....

They swapped me onto the iPhone Simplicity 20 tariff and everything works with the exception of Visual Voicemail, I only get the standard 901 service.

Tried again today and, once again: "systems are down, try again at 4pm" This is starting to sound dodgy...

I've done mine a few days ago, but my housemate has been trying for the last 3 days, everytime they phone O2, the systems are down!!

Pathetic.

Got it sorted at Lunchtime.

Had rung every day this week to be told that retentions systems were down or being upgraded.

Rang Upgrades and said as their system was also down could they give me details of where to write a letter or fax to cancel my contract (was nice about it, said I had to do it today as it was now 30 days to the end of my contract etc.).

Strangely enough they put me through to someone in Retentions who had a working system! and am now on Simplicity 20 for iPhone (also got a free USB 3G PAYG modem, will probably never use it but, hey, it was free).

Jen.

I called at 7pm this evening (after several previous tries over the past 3 days) and got my revised tariff through for Simplicity iPhone 20. What a relief!

So i called back yesterday during launch to find out why i had to wait till the 31st seeing as i just started a new billing month, the chap agreed and revised my transfer to this morning and i have indeed been moved to the new tariff. Visual Voicemail now working.

I phoned them this morning and moved over to the iPhone Simplicity 20 tariff. I had absolutely no hassle, a friendly rep who knew what he was doing and everything is still working as it should.

It must be a dream.

:D

All very well and good, but they lost me a month back. Did nothing really to try and keep me which was silly as me and missus were spending £200 a month.
Moved to Vodafone business clarity and I'm paying l £80 for both phones including unlimited texts, calls and data. No visual voicemail, but visual voicemail is not worth £120 a month!

I'm so sad I'm so sad I'm so sad
£100 cashback on 12 month simplicity via quidco has ended.
The day I tried to buy it.
Now paying normal price for simplicity just doesnt feel right.

I don't know what to do.
I don't understand this pay and go system. It's too complicated and not easy
to follow.

Is there any other way to get cashback when buying
this simplicity sim?

Should have bought it a day earlier, then you wouldn' have been so sad so sad so sad.

Maybe I should do what 3 suggested.
Get the phone unlocked and accept
a £15 rolling monthly contract. Only 1gb
data limit though. They said o2 limit is 512mb,
I don't know if that is true or not.

It's enough to make to switch to Orange

I recently came off my £35 p/month tariff and what poor service.

I was not told about the data bolt on and how to cahnge the data settings so two phone calls later I finally have my email.

Now I realise that I don't get voicemail notifications, so I ring again and am told that the only way to get these is to go back on an 18 mnth £35 tariff. As it is my intention to upgrade to the next gen iPhone I have no option but to switch carriers after 6 years with o2.

Disgusting.

IF, and a big if, because your message doesn't make much sense - you are referring to the new iPhone 20 simplicity tariff, data and wifi unlimited is included.

If it doesn't work after upgrading to that tariff, you need to reset your network settings.

That's it, nothing more. There's nothing disgusting about it. It's easy. No rocket science involved.

I called up on Wednesday 9th to get my Online Simplicity 20 Tariff changed to the new Simplicity for iPhone tariff.

Very friendly rep said that it was cool and changed me over. Confirmed everything to me and it all seemed fine.

BUT now 48 hours later and I'm STILL on Online Simplicity and NOT Simplicity for iPhone.

Why the delay?

I wonder if we could stay with that tariff with new june/july iPhone when you buy it as a "Payasyougo" ?

I have just switched from the £35 a month tarrif to the £20 iphone simplicity. Intrigued by comments that people are getting many more texts than I was offered (600 mins and 500 texts) How are folk getting the extra texts?

FWIW I phoned vodafone and orange to look for one of their sim only deals and they tried to improve on their standard deals but none came close to the O2 one.

I didnt phone 3 or T-mobile as I have been there before and they just dont work where I am !

I like that it is a rolling monthly so if a new iphone is launched next year I can jump on that without having to wait.

Seems my CS contact was talking out a hole in her.... well anyway. I checked my tariff online and have 600 mins and 1200 texts. I had the same issue when put through to retentions when I asked about the iphone simplicity first guy knew it existed but not the details told me to speak to retentions. They said their systems were down and someone would phone back in 24 hours. they didnt and I phoned them tried to haggle a bit (over texts cos I thought I was getting 600 and CS told me same - perhaps 1200 is standard?) and then got put on the iphone simplicity tariff no problems.

she said it would take 24h to take effect and I noticed the following day I lost data connection. May have been coincidence cos it came back by itself but I panicked a bit.

I guess that they can afford to do this because the extra money was paying off the handset. Now thats payed for, the monthly bill was always going to come down (17 months at the extra £15 = £255 plus the money I stumped up upfront seems to add up to paying for a phone)

Not true and in fact O2 probably have the most flexible data limit of all the carriers out there

You seemed to have switched to a regular simplicity or PAYG

right, i wasnt on the iphone contract before, i'm just going to get an iphone for xmas, and at the minute i'm on 'o2 unlimited'
will i still be able to switch over to this tariff even though i dont have or havent ever had an iphone contract?
and really?
600 mins, 1200 texts, and UNLIMITED 3g internet?
