1) Because I noticed others have started to, such as "CD"

2) It matters to me because I am interested in this subject and want to find out if ohmac is an authentic source or not, the fact of their legitimacy and source legitimacy should be of greater concern to you indeed.

I have no chips, money does not mean that much to me, and what I lost I was not that bothered by - You should not be offended by someone questioning the legitimacy of a site selling outside of uk official contract deals as it could seriously affect you. If the supply is logged as stolen or missing by apple, they could be traced by serial numbers.

You got scammed, you didn't care where yours would have come from when you purchased it now it turns out that ohmac are genuine you trying to find an excuse to winge yet again. All of your posts having been moaning, either about ishop or now ohmac. I for one will be glad when I receive my iphone 3G as I won't have to read absolute rubbish that you spout. You couldn't let the original ohmac post be about when we will receive our phones but you were influential in that post degenerating into personal insults (and yes I am aware that I am having a go at you but I am fed up with your petty little moans) Please foxtrot oscar to your thread that ohmac are fake while we stay on this thread which is meant for genuine customers and please go and rant on your own thread that has now thankfully been disproved!

You've got to hand it to ishopukisfake, at the end of the day he did single-handedly made the mods close down two threads and banning one member along the way.

I suggest we should all just ignore his posts from now on and stop reading/responding to them, hopefully he would go away... (or until he resurrects with a new account.)

I've actually quite enjoyed (in a car crash sort of way) ishopukisfake's posts.

His transition has been fascinating, going from trying to circumvent O2's exclusivity contract, to seeing scams everywhere, to finally deciding the iPhone isn't actually that good and he doesn't really want one after all.

EDIT: Sorry, I've been following all the Ohmac threads and posted without really thinking this was the customer only thread. Happy for mods to delete, but my apologies to everyone until then.

Rigsby, at least yours made sense and was relevant to the subject unlike he who shall not be named :p Let's all just get on and await our phones and comment on those rather the claptrap issued by the not quite so Office of Information :D

5 hours later and Billy seems to have disappeared.

i to have been monitering the ohmac situation on these forums as i ordered 1 on the 24th of june and been quite anxious about it,ive rang them a couple of times recently on monday phil said he didnt know when he would be posting my order, however an hour later he emailed me and asked would it be ok to post my order out soon and the phone is locked i said course it is.got an email this morning again off paypal to confirm it has been posted and tracking number! as you can imagine ime quite happy:D

Mine was shipped today as well. Got an email with a tracking number. Hope it gets delivered soon! Like eggb i am very happy about it. I had to agree to a locked phone as well, but i bought a sim adapter for the iphone off ebay, so hopefully that should do the trick.

Hopefully 02 are keeping an eye on OHMAC, and will learn what people are willing to pay for a PAYG iPhone.

Working out the costs: £319 for a 16 GB, if you decide to add the unlimited data bolt-on (£10 a month) and calculate the cost over an 18 month period you are talking £499 total. This compares to £699 minimum cost over 18 month period for 16 GB iPhone on O2 contract. Presuming then that you spend less than £10 a month on phone calls you are saving money. There has been a lot of stress though for all those that took a chance on Ohmac, even if it is now paying off - and there are still question marks over the unlocking and updates, etc.

Of course you may ;)

I did not pay more for my Iphone. I pre ordered it for 159 pound. Delivery was 16 quid since i live in Germany and international shipping is more expensive than domestic delivery. So that is 159 + 16 = 175.

Why would you say i paid more?

A couple of my friends are considering the Rebelsim for use in their Ohmac handsets, so this is interesting to hear.

Did you see that there is a new "firmware" available for the card? Perhaps that might help? They have a video on their site, added yesterday (19th August), showing full 3G functionality with a Vodafone SIM being used

Unfortunately you would also need their card reader/programmer thing to do the update though.

Is it possible to see what firmware is on the card you have eggb?

Did you get you're phone?

As of now, 10:00 am in the morning, no. But according to the tracking service on the royal mail website it already is in Germany.

Should be here any day now. I will go away for the weekend till Sunday, but someone will be here to pick it up if it will be delivered tomorrow (Saturday).

Quote from the Royal Mail Website:

" Your item, posted on 20/08/08 with reference RxxxxxxxxxGB has been passed to the overseas postal service for delivery in GERMANY"
