This is just the exterior or the case. there are no "internals" holding things in place. I'd guess the buttons are not connected to anything and just free floating, or placed very carefully so they don't fall out.

This does not explain the rotation of the volume "-" button. The photo of the volume button part from ilab shows the "+" and "-" buttons as a single connected piece. Therefore unless the buttons were separated and rotated or different buttons were used, I'm not sure whats going on here.

This anomaly is very strange as it only occurs in one of the photos. The image doesn't appear to be altered and the parts appear genuine to me so I am a bit confused.

Arn - normally I'd agree, however on the same website - they also show a supposed volume button panel - and it's one piece. You can't flip the orientation of the symbol 90 degrees unless you physically cut it in half - as it appears to be just like the iPhone 4.

saw a friend of mine running jelly bean on his nexus s the other day. the UI is GORGEOUS beautiful!

i'll wait to see what the next iPhone brings to the table and if it doesnt satisfy me i'm gonna try something new

its getting a bit old after owning the iPhone, iPhone 3G, iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S. the freakin UI hasnt changed a thing since 2007

The UI is beautiful, most apps are not. And while my new GNex is a pretty amazing phone, on par with my iPhone, there is much to be desired in terms of details and simplicity that Apple offered (not waking the phone by hitting the volume buttons, a lock screen in addition to the passcode screen, battery % on the status bar, notifications like messages flashing on the lockscreen, etc.) - I'll be rooting for these reasons and more, but it goes to show Apple's attention to detail to a lot of the little things...

One of my biggest grip about Android and their manufacturers is that there will be a newer spec phone every two months. That drives me crazy...knowing that my hone will be outdated in TWO fricking months. That's ridiculous! Unify the release every 6 months maybe? I hate that android phone become worthless after 6-12 months.

Get on the GNex cycle... hell even the GS3 seems old once you get past the new physical design, S-Voice, pop-up play, and photo sharing.

I completely agree iOS needs a UI overhaul. It's been like this for how many years? It's just like my last few cars. Everyone of them has had the exact same UI - three pedals and a wheel. BORING! Where's the innovation?

The most you'll ever get (I'm fairly confident in this statement) is something like OSX where you swipe to a widgets page. iOS gets the job done, and if you 'get bored' or 'need widgets' there is an alternative for you!

Please say it ain't so

This just can't be. Internals, larger screen, thinner, and new functionality aside, the design of the 4 & 4S has looked increasingly tired. Why then another generation of the iPhone that for the most part looks like the previous two? Apple needs (no, requires) a new iPhone designed to go after Samsung in every which way. And killer design is one of these which ways. Here's hoping Apple has a surprise in store.

Ha, the timing and detailed similarity of our posts were quite the coincidence.

Hate this. Please tell me it's a bad dream and I'll wake up on whatever day they announce it and it will look nothing like this. Otherwise I'm seriously going to have consider moving to the dark side. :(

Why is the headphone jack located at the bottom? Now you would need to put the phone in your pocket upside down.

Why would you turn it around to put it in right side up? It should have always been on the bottom.

Can someone tell me what's so awesome about the design of this phone other than the big screen. If Apple released a phone that looked like this people would be vomiting all over it. Samsung releases it and it's the greatest thing since sliced bread. I hate the fake wood grain plastic. And the not flush camera on the back. The blue and white aren't quite as bad but the red one is seriously fugly.

I really prefer it this new way. When the phone is top up in my pocket and I reach into my pocket, grab it from the sides as you would normally hold it and pull it out and look at it, it is upside down.

With this new design it would be in the correct orientation in your hand as you pull it out.

Plus when using it while plugged in, both power and headphone cords are on the bottom making it easier to hold and use. No headphone cable that keeps getting in way.

dont get me wrong, i like leaks... but leaks that give away the entire device take away the mystique a bit for me and are becoming a little bit of a turn-off :/

i am starting to feel *bad* for apple, it used to be damn near impossible to get a few details about unreleased products, let alone photos. Now its becoming quite ridiculous.

Yeah I agree with you. The SGS3 looks fugly. Just because it's only a Samsung, nobody cares about the design.

People, some of us just love the iPhone 4/4S design. It's a classic, and classics are timeless. That doesn't make us sheep, or under Apple's mind control.

I don't need my phone to provide me with thrills and chills every year or two, or fill some empty space in my soul.

Please stop with the rude name-calling. I'm not a sheep, or blind, or stupid. I'm someone who loves the current design and will be happy to stick with it. If you don't feel the same way, I'm cool with that.
