Okay sorry I guess I was wrong and everyone can get their phones on launch day. My bad.

No. You were not wrong. Everyone did not. Just those of us who planned carefully and stood in line. Even those who ordered on launch day got their phones already.

Naturally, people holding out for Gold have had trouble (generally speaking), but they were determined to make a fashion statement, so they should be fine waiting.

Looks like it's a Gray day today, no damn gold.

i've had a hard time trying to get a 5s (silver, 16gb) this way. probably the last 10 times, i've tried after seeing it in stock at a local store, i've gone through the check out process only to have it say that the store doesn't have it after I place the order.

i've had the same bad luck using a web brower & the iphone app. i'm sure the demand is high in my area, but I'm starting to wonder if there's something else that i'm doing wrong.

oh, and the iphone stock check app seems to be delayed in reporting when the phones go back out of stock as I see phone still in stock from that app, but not when I try to order.

Yesterday was Silver Day, it even lasted a whole 5 minutes!

How accurate is this? I ask because that website says one thing and the Apple website says the complete opposite.

I think it is does accurate report when a store gets stock of the phone, but it seems to have a cache/delay that doesn't update immediately when its out of stock.

I just checked the site vs Apple and it was actually right this time. Sucks that I'm at work till 5:30 tho :D

Best thing to do is turn "express checkout" on and leave the phone you would like to purchase in your cart, that way when you see it is available all you have to do is choose a store and then click on "place order now" button...cuts down on time wasted entering all of your payment information...it worked for me, thanks to advice from another member on this forum, after struggling for days just like you....good luck ;)

I've seen a ton of space grey and silver in the Raleigh/Durham area today. All sizes for space gray and 32 and 64 gb for the silver.

No gold, but that's pretty normal. There was gold a couple of days ago, but it went quickly. By the looks of Craigslist around here, I'd say that's due to scalpers.

Seems like stock is getting better since I've seen gold available scattered around on the iphone checker list in my area, and almost off of the stores have the grey 32 ATT in.

Been trying to exchange my ATT silver 32GB 5s (purchased online at 3AM on 9/21, received 9/25) for 64GB model at local Apple store since receiving it (over a month now). Apple Store finally extended my exchange period last weekend for 2 more weeks because I was at the 30-day exchange/return limit and none had been available in past month. Today I finally found one via online check availability at 3:00 EST and rushed over to the Apple store 10 minutes away. Got the last 64GB ATT silver model. I had checked this morning and zero zilch nada. Crazy inventory stock problems one month out from launch per Apple employee.

I finally pick mine up at target.. 16 gig gold verizon.. Looks great..

good luck guys~~

Is 10:00pm EST no longer a big inventory update? Last year at this time nearly every store went from "Not in Stock" to "In Stock" almost all at once. and I haven't seen anything updated

No it's not anymore...having used the iPhone tracker app for a week until I finally landed one, the updates on the east coast are:
2-2:30pm
6-6:30pm
2-2:30am

Just my experience, but others have posted similar times here as well...good luck! ;)

Ah! that explains it. Thanks! :D

I had the same experience, except I was trying for a space grey. My Apple store is 30 miles away, so after the online order fiasco yesterday, I went to the store on the off chance they really did have one. The Apple rep told me they had "a few" and I left with a new phone.

It's worth stopping by your local store if it's not too far away. They might have what you want, despite the online pickup status.
