You're comparing Apples to oranges when comparing different manufacturers. For the longest time Apple flagship products had 2GB of RAM when Android had 4GB. I'm comparing 2017 flagship Apple iPhone X (3GB) to 2018 mid-tier iPhone XR (still 3GB).

Nope, its perfect. Sorry, you and your vocal fellow puny phone lovers are out of luck. The puny phone thing is done, the masses prefer a larger phone as evidenced by Apple dropping the smaller size.

I actually think it looks nice with the bezels. Much better than the 6-8 series iPhone bezels

No suspense, it’s the best selling iPhone ever. Have we ever heard anything different. Interesting though. Apple was actually hyping up saying be ready at 12:01 and ever second counts.
Can’t judge success by how many are still available on launch day . We have no idea how many units are available .
Love how if iPhone sells out in 24 hours it's either Apple has lousy demand prediction or they're purposely restraining supply for publicity. Then if they have enough iPhones to meet demand the phone is obviously not selling well.

I think it's nice that Apple gives you the 128GB option for $50 more on this model
It would be nicer if the base model was 128gb instead of 64gb.

I agree, it's a nice looking phone. I have a S9+ and my only issue with big phones is the weight
The S9+ weighs 188g the iPhone XR and XSmax are even heavier. I feel 188g is too heavy now. My wifes v35 is 158g imvho that is sweet spot for weight in a big phone
Yeah...been waiting for model 3 for 2.5 years, just finished production this month and is on a train to the east coast right now...Still a 2 year wait to get one...so that’s a lie

Still won’t be locked to a carrier though, but I don’t think they come locked either way if you don’t pay in full if you do the upgrade with Apple.

Have ever seen launch day availability this far after ordering begins for an iPhone? I’ll answer that for you. Nope, this is unheard of.
It is always better to see the end user reviews and critics reviews, look at the product yourself before making $800-$1000 worth decision. Yes you always return but waiting for few weeks is no brainer
That could be an Apple strategy that yellow would not probably sell well anyway so they came up with the plan another unicorn supply constraints of the yellow iPhone. Then people would rush to get the XR before holiday because other colors most people would want them anyway thinking that they might ran out soon. Somehow this fake supply constraints always works well since Nintendo Wii.
It might confuse those coming from iP 6S(+) until iP 8(+) whether to go for this or go after XS...
Had delivery estimates slipped people would be complaining that they arent making them fast enough and calling for Tim "supply chain expert" Cook's head. Now because they have enough stock people say they clearly aren't selling well.
The people staying up until 2-3am to order a phone are more commonly the people that want the Xs. This kind of phone is perfect for the person that is looking to upgrade, but doesn't really care about the bells and whistles. Someone walks into the store and sees the colors and the $250 price difference and their mind is made up. The people that REALLY care about OLED, 3D touch, multiple camera lenses, etc are the people that were always going to buy the Xs anyway.
This will sell really well in the long run, imo.

That sounds similar to what many of the apple reviewers are saying. Funny thing though is that these reviewers wouldn’t personally buy it over the XS. “The mainstream will LOVE it (but not me)” is what I hear. But that alone speaks volumes which they just don’t get.
This. This is not an enthusiast phone. The people this phone will sell well to are not the people getting up in the middle of the night to pre-order or camp out in line. It's mostly people who want a new iPhone at the best price possible and upgrade/buy on their own schedule. Once it is in stores it will be a great seller, especially if carriers start offering deals on it.
Also, the marketing strategy of this phone was intentional. Some have speculated the month delay of the release of the XR was due to production. BS. Apple did not want to cannibalize Xs and Xs Max sales. It was no accident they waited a month so that the return period on launch day Xs and Xs max orders would be up before this phone was sold.
And for those screaming for an SE sized phone, I guarantee it would be in the same boat saleswise, and actually probably wouldn't even hit XR numbers. The market has spoken on that issue.
7.5 hours later and here in Canada, all colours and sizes still available for first day delivery.

The mainstream being older adults and kids, hell even more money conscious individuals. This is the perfect next phone for my mom/dad whenever they decide to upgrade their 6s’s. The market for this is large, but it’s not geared for the vast majority of the people on this site.
