apple store app worked fine for me. they didn't specifically point you out and ruin your pre-order experience. shouldn't have cancelled the original order. chances are you could have had that one delivered no more than a few days after the Nov 3rd release. How is it apples fault you didn't sleep?
store worked great for me

No pre-approvals for new IUP customers. The App never went live for me. Used mobile Safari at 3:10AM which was when it was live for me. I already had an IUP for my 8 Plus and apparently I didn't qualify for another although I never found out until morning.

I ordered through the Apple Store App this morning around 6:45 EST. December 11-18 delivery.

That's why you don't rely on one means, you should have had a browser up too. Chrome didn't let me order, but Firefox did. Plus you're an idiot for cancelling a pre-order with a November 10th date...

Can the mods ban garbage like this?

Like seriously, what’s the point? I’m all for having fun and joking with each other and being able to express ourselves on the forums, but this is just feeding into a pattern of self entitlement. The whiney tone of posts like this just hit a nerve with me, especially since there’s people out there with, you know, actual problems?

The fact that we’re able to order a technological miracle through another technological miracle while laying around half naked at some crazy time in the morning? How are we not more grateful of things like this? We’re all guilty of it, including myself at times, but sometimes we really need to reel it in and appreciate what we have.

I woke up at 2:55am, placed my order at 3:06am, and went back to sleep after I got my confirmation email. Worked a 10 hour day today. When I would get my phone didn’t bother me at all. I did happen to get a Nov 3rd pickup, but if I didn’t? Oh well. Life goes on.

/end rant

Wow, I wake up after catching up on sleep today and see that I'm berated for my post and called a troll. Sorry for expressing frustration at being told I'd get a phone on November 3rd, and actually (maybe) getting it in mid-December..

Ummm yeaa--just go back to sleep, thank you

I chat supported them and they said too bad so sad. Unless I had a reservation number, there wasn't much they could do to make it happen any faster.
Check your email ASAP. I think those of us who had a loan error may have gotten some good news!

the OP has whined in many other threads he started, and this is not his first order-and-cancel incident, so my guess is he’s blaming apple for his royal **** up. canceling the order because you didn’t like the delivery date and then RE-ORDERING hoping you get a better date?

Ugh. The stupid Apple Store App wasn't working... finally I got in, and got November 10th - November 17th. I was pissed, so I canceled the pre-order - Now when I try to re-buy it, I get a 5-6 week shipping estimate?

The worst part is i didn't sleep last night. This is how Apple treats its most loyal customers?

A quick heads up if you call Apple you normally get 24-48 hours to uncancel an order.

It’s a phone. Who does all that for a phone?

I can understand being upset yo I didn’t get soenthing. That’s natural. And honestly one doesn’t decide how something effects them. I don’t like being mad, and when I am mad, I’m certainly not actively deciding to be.

Anyway I am confused a bit. When did apple promise launch day delivery? Maybe I missed something here but I don’t know that anything is ever promised. It’s always an estimate. Even once it ships they cannot promise anything because something could happen delaying or even destroying the product. A very good estimate can be made. Nothing more.

Also, why cancel the order? Again I understand being frustrated. But no money has been taken until it’s shipped. Surely you could have even kept your order and tried to find it elsewhere in the interim? If you succeed, then cancel. If you don’t succeed, weigh your options. Canceling an order on a hot commodity is frankly only worth it if you’ve decided you no longer want it.

I can’t imagine only wanting something if you can get it the day it’s released, but we all have different priorities. You can even be mad at Apple about this bit I feel like your feelings are misguided. They’d love to get the phone in your hands yesterday. It’s how they make money.

Best of luck in your search.

If I'm paying over $1000 for a phone, I expect that I'll get it when Apple PROMISES I'll get it - On their website they specifically say November 3rd. So of course I'm going to cancel a pre-order if they can't uphold their end of the deal.

This must win the year’s dumbest post award. I bet your employer was happy when you called in sick.

Please tell us who told you you'd get a phone on November 3. It seems you were laboring under the impression you would get a phone on the 3rd when in fact Apple made no such guarantee.

Privilege. This is the kind of stuff I see around me all the time. Before people start throwing stones, look at your life and see where you might be doing the same thing. Expecting things to happen to and for you because that's 'just how things go'. I'm not gonna blast his person because many of you do the same thing in everyday life.

Switch to Sprint so you won’t have this problem next time.

I love your point. Unfortunately, there's something called the ugly truth

You took off work? Why? I set an alarm for 1:55 am. Got up, opened up app store at 2:01. I didn't work the first few times, but before 2:02, My phone was ordered. I got Nov. 3 delivery date. Went back to sleep. Woke up and went to work. Absolutely no reason to not go to work.

Seriously. I woke up 2:45 EST, pre ordered, went back to sleep till 5AM, went to gym, did my thing and went to work.

For the amount of time it took. Can see the need of taking off.
