Because it won't work for those who haven't upgraded their devices for a couple of years. I'll be honest, i was kind of excited about the ruler feature when it was demoed. But then I learned iphone 6 is too old a device to support arkit. Yes, two years is all takes for an apple processor to go from he fastest thing in he world that can compete with a laptop to a turtle. Meanwhile my haswell laptop is still able to do everything a modern CPU does...I'm sorry why do we have to remember ARkit?
Pretty sure Sept. 19th will not be remembered by the release date of some random OS.
IOS 11 is a massive disappointment, there's not much "new" in it. It's just chalked full of bandades.. Apple needs to redesign the interface, icons don't count fellas. Now moving away from the home button, time to really step up software development!
Yes! I had the GM spontaneously reboot (crash), text writing outside the notification bubble on the home screen, Messages scroll stuck so that I can scroll to the last message. And, sometimes when I swipe a mail to left all of the options buttons are missing (just a blank white area). Pretty basic stuff that should have never made it past QA. But, I guess when they set a date, they gotta keep it no matter how obviously buggy the software is.
They used to. Disagree on that present day...they've gotten lazy and tired.

Oh it’ll be a day to remember that’s for sure. The day Apple decided things we purchased? he doesn’t think we should use them any more. It’s called “Planned Obsolescence” - just like your computer and iPad. 5 years then throw it away even though it works perfect.
Since iTunes 12.7 took away the right for us to backup our own devises by removing the App Store why not kill off hundreds of thousands of those apps while were at it ?
We have close to 3,000 ranging from free to as high as $170 purchase price. When beta 5 came out I got a little surprise on my new iPad Pro housing them all.
“1.877 apps were removed as they were not compatible”. Wtf?
iOS 11 hits educational apps and kids games the hardest. Some of the school grade apps are $170 per school grade (1. 2, , etc) and then they charge a fee per year too.
Don’t do it. It’s not worth loosing 1/3rd of your purchases especially things your kids need and use for school.
I’m surprised he had time to show up or say anything. Isn’t there a “cause” somewhere needing your activists’ attention Tim? Some gay day parade you need to speak at? (It’s ok I’m a fag. It’s ok for fags to poke other fags in the eye.) Oh that’s right this weekend is Folsom Street fair. I forgot. See ya there! Don’t forget your leather
It usually starts a wide rollout at 10 AM Pacific Time, so it's not available for anyone yet....oh hang on, it's not available do we have to wait for Americans to wake up before we can install iOS 11? How very dare we

My god the human suffering. Forced to adoption t the new IOS 11 against your will. How can Tim Cook be so cruel.Well, that's the thing. The rational part of the brain knows the majority of the blame lies in the developers (I'm looking at you, Disney). But the emotional part of the brain feels that since it's ultimately the iOS 11 update that deals the death knell, I feel compelled to direct at least SOME outrage to Apple.
And it's not a good idea to sweep all the cases into "lazy dev" rug. There are cases where some developers have been bought out by bigger companies like Google and the existing apps get left behind. Only the core of the technology gets incorporated into a tangentially related product and the alternatives I have to turn to are inferior or practically nonexistent. It's quite a frustrating predicament. And it's not like we could have some sort of 32-bit iOS emulator to keep them alive like we could do with DOS programs. Intended or not, I simply can't absolve Apple of all the rage.
I've been running OS11 for awhile, but haven't had any of these issues. I guess YMMV
Oh thanks, never knew it was an either or choice.Maybe Tim and Apple should focus on making great software instead of worrying about climate change and where people pee.
