Whitewashing history much?
Genocide was just as illegal back then as it is now and will be, as long as we call ourselves civilized human beings.

This is about children and teeangers by the way, who didn't have a CHOICE because they were brought by their parents many years ago. Many of them have spent nearly their whole life in the country and some don't even speak the language of their parents anymore. Sending them back into a country that will be entirely foreign to them will destroy their lives. And you want to pat yourself on the back for that? Jeez.

And these kids, now adults, have had plenty of time to make matter right with the government. If they failed to do that I have no real compassion for them. Regardless of their parents actions, they are still illegal immigrants...and now we know Apple hires illegals! Time to look into that......

Aren't all Americans illegal immigrants in a way? Why was it okay hundreds of years ago? Hypocrites.

Couldn't the same be said about any country including yours? Yet you still have boarders and require some semblance of documentation to be welcome. The point is it is a sovereign State with borders and has the right to protect those borders and decide who has the right to enter.

Surprising that America has 800,000 of these young people covered by DACA. Almost a million illegal immigrant children living within its borders.

Ya know, that's a lot of potential jobs being taken away from Americans by DACA. It gives these people a waiver to work as if they were legal. So ya know.. I can see Trumps point about wanting to get rid of it, it would open up many positions for American legal citizens and he has to serve those people.

For sure I feel bad for these young people being dragged to America by their parents and having to live the life of an illegal immigrant but that's life. On the bright side they have had access to some American education and can take that back to their own countries (I'm assuming most of them are from Mexico).

What an astute, yet plainly fair perspective. Thanks for sharing :)

I'll say this right at the onset: Tim Cook needs to give his left liberal political pandering since November 2016 a bloody effing break. I'm an immigrant from India myself, I currently work for Apple from Germany, I have family in the USA, and before Tim blindly starts defending Dreamers, he needs to read this: https://cis.org/Mortensen/DACA-Gran...mitting-Crimes-While-Abandoning-Their-Victims.

I support some of President Trump's policies and I believe that DACA should be reformulated from the ground up instead of being nullified.

Having said that, Tim Cook of late hasn't ceased downright disgusting me. We get it that Tim is a die-hard Hillary Clinton fan but he just can't seem to be able to keep his head out of politics.

KKK, Nazis, white supremacsists are vile, demented creatures—there's no defending ANYTHING they stand for. But where are Cook's Twitter condemnations and fundraising against rabidly hateful and intolerant leftist groups like Antifa, who (quite literally!) burn down every single free speech rally at college campuses without a single consequence?

What happens to his voice when Islamists openly urge for a Jewish genocide in America in the name of "freeing Palestine"?!

Where is this coward when cop-killing BLM groups conduct riots, vandalize local businesses, loot, destroy for months in a row during the 2-term presidency of a black man!?

In which hole in the ground does Tim Cook hide when rabid feminists take the stage—physically or on mainstream media—and demand the systematic suffering of men, especially white males in America?

As a brown man that has seen plenty of these pseudoliberals in my own country, there's nothing worse than a duplicitous, hypocritical COWARD with connections to influence, and tons of cash to spend toward their own agenda.

Tim, take your private jet and come see the state of Germany after it took in 3 million undocumented immigrants. Roam around Düsseldorf for a while, then take a flight to Paris and then drop in at Rome after that. Maybe what you will witness will help you SHUT your mouth and have you consider focusing on your goddam job again.

Wow! It's refreshing to hear things like this. I too have experienced the Germany bit with my time working with Mercedes. It was always eye opening to me how appalled or really infuriating my German colleagues would get about Germany's current state.

I now find myself in a totally different field, around construction work. I can assume most know what that means, undocumented workers. In this environment, not only is it extremely dangerous but it is also taking jobs away from others that could develop that skill or trade.

It's a tough thing. I feel the people really getting shafted are the people who did it the correct way and the kids of the people who did it the incorrect way.

And for the love of god, please stop placing the blame on a particular race or the government for holding you back. Those views and ideas are the ones that cripple you the most!

Fwiw, Tim Cook is an Auburn grad and that little cow town is just down the road from where I grew up.

Are you serious? Like do you honestly not have a clue about world history or something? There is a distinct difference between moving into an unsettled & ungoverned land and sneaking into an established country with laws and government.
Native Americans had government and laws. They were a functioning society. Education is key. Try getting some.

So...a CEO of one of America's largest companies just admitted to using illegal immigrants for labor? He doesn't think there's anything slightly insane about that, and that those jobs shouldn't go to Americans??? Why wouldn't he be the first person to say "Wow, I had no idea my stores were hiring illegals. I agree Mr. President, these jobs should go to immigrants who put in the years of work and thousands of dollars to come here legally." ????

Wow.... America really needs to get pulled back from the edge.

Wow, what a load of garbage.

A stern, yet acceptable face, for Tim :D I'm not sure if Tim cook would see the other side if no immigrants were working for Apple, or weather he truly believes regardless.

It would be easy to be against this if u are working for.

Ah. The ole all false equivalency argument. So tired.
Awesome. These angry isolationist protectionists don't understand false equivalency but nice reply.

They employ 2 million people in America alone (according to a Macrumors article I read a few weeks ago) so he's using his company to influence policy that effects 0.01% of his work force? This clearly isn't a policy that effects Apple that much, so the huge issue here is that a corporation is trying to use their money and popularity to influence public policy. I think we should get big business out of politics, don't you?
Nope. Your Supreme Court of Republicans decided corporations are people. Accept it.

This jabroni can't stop pandering to his SJW politics. He's simply compelled to virtue signal. It's unreal.
Bllah blah blah blah anyone using this thing , sjw, non ironically should self-deport to androidville. Considering the constant self victimisation of whiner in chief and cohort it's the only thing that'd make sense. They deserve to use crap since they love to wallow info it.

You’re always going to find disgruntled people from any place who think things should be done differently.

Eg; I’m from the UK, and I like it here. I also support and am friends with immigrants and immigrant workers.

One thing I don’t really understand is geographical birthright.. From a base, moral perspective - what have you done to earn your place in your country over anyone else? I didn’t choose to be born in England.. If a kid has grown up in a country and is contributing to the economy I can’t see any real argument other than legalities, and moral considerations change laws and ethics over time.

He’ll, it’s incredibly unchristian to tell them all to piss off “back home to where they came from” too. Hypocritical in the extreme.

I probably couldn’t pass my nationality test without prior warning and revision.. The entitlement of “I was born here this is mine and not yours.” Is incredibly backward seeming in the info-focused, shrinking world we live in.

Also if people hate the left leaning politics of Tim and the company.. You can, you know.. speak with your wallet, or avoid these stories? Apple is a liberal company with progressive values. If that annoys you so much why torture yourself?

No real argument besides the law? Haha. No wonder why you people let your country get taken over.

It's really amazing, the American economy demands more workers for jobs that need to be filled but we send them away because they aren't born here.

The border needs to be strengthened to prevent more illegals from coming in but we need to promote and push for legal immigration if we want the American economy to continue to grow. All I see are liberals who don't care about the consequences of people not being documented and paying taxes to a system that they are basically leeching from, and then we have conservatives who like to blame all their problems on immigrants.
