The device support list appears to be wrong. According to an Apple engineer on Reddit (link has already been posted above), all devices that support watchOS 26 also support watchOS 27. The published device support list is just devices that support Siri AI. Another Reddit user confirmed getting the beta to show up as an option on a Series 8 watch. Let's give some time for this to settle out and for them to get the documentation fixed.

Well, that "Apple Engineer" posted that their comment was made up and apparently deleted their account, it's in one of the other threads, multiple times.
Meanwhile Apple updated their website and included the S9 in the list of supported devices, but 6/7/8/U1 are SOL

I’m still trying to get it. I still don’t see watchOS 27 beta 1 pop up on my iPhone for download

thanks that will be great has it’s unmarked 93% battery health would have been a big shame to throw it in the draw
As I have now own an Apple Watch that isn’t compatible with latest watchOS anymore, I would also continue using mines until it is done. ✔️

The only time I upgrade is when my third party apps won’t work on the latest version anymore and/or my watch is due for battery replacement or is damaged.

Alrighty 👍 everyone with these Apple Watches:
Apple Watch series 9–11, SE 3
Apple Watch Ultra 2 and 3.

Since this group includes the fewest compatible models, here’s a question for you.

Have you tried Siri AI yet, and how’s battery life so far? Share your thoughts.

The focus this year across platforms is stability and performance, not new features (with the exception of AI). That was expected and I like it. Snow Leopard moment.
Which is okay if WatchOS got a ton of features last year or the year before - but another year with almost nothing. And Apple want to be taken seriously in the sports and running space, needs updates with the features all the competitors have had for years

Is there any option to change the Double-Tap action in WatchOS 27? I never ever want to go into the Smart Stack, and would disable it all together if I could. I would much rather have the Double-Tap to open my notifications instead. If I'm a second too late to see a notification, I could lift and Double-Tap to show them

Has anybody got the new Siri Working on Ultra 2. OS 27 I installed on iPhone 17pro and watch. New Siri working all good on iPhone.

Any known issues with watchOS 27 just yet?
Walkie Talkie appears to be gone, not that I'm using it very often.
App switcher doesn't work. Double pressing the Digital Crown doesn't do anything, I've reported feedback.
Otherwise, I'm not running into other issues so far.

I have a query on ‘Recent Open Apps’. You’re supposed to be able to double press the digital crown to see your open apps. You could then go into them or swipe them closed. In WatchOS 27 the double press of the Digital Crown doesn’t do anything anymore. Does this mean you can no longer see which apps you have open?

I’m curious about that as it’s regarding that new grid layout introduced in watchOS 27.

Y’all with compatible watches see that change? I think  might have put it back the old way with the side button for the app switcher which was in pre-watchOS 10 prior to the Smart Stack.

Nothing happens for me as well. It must be a bug, since it's still mentioned in the tips app.
Report feedback if you can, I've done it too and I can see that some people reported this bug/issue too, according to 'Recent Similar Reports'

My only issue with the 27 beta has been unread messages. It says I have 6 on my screen. If I open the app, it says 3 in the unknown senders, but none are found. I had Siri read them off, and usually that removes them. But they have stayed, and Siri will read them over and over if I ask. I just installed it this morning, and this wasn't on 26.6, so something with 27 is "seeing" something different. In case anyone else has this - FB23009141 is my case you can connect it with.

And yes, Walkie is gone. I used it with my daughter and son since we live in different states, and it is quick and fun, but it seems no longer.

Walker talkie is gone?! I don’t personally use it so I threw it out since it came out in watchOS 5. Apple likes to take away lesser-known watch faces, and now features?!

Correct. Ain’t no documentation showing how it works in the new version so put feedback and put the number here.

AFAIK Siri AI is not rolling out to anyone yet - I've been on the waitlist since the beta came out. I am on an iPhone 15 pro, so I won't get the local models, so maybe I'll get it at a different time than others.

Still on waitlist on my end and I have the same iPhone as you.

But darn it my watch won’t get it as I can’t update it. Only my iPhone and Mac will get it.

Wifi on My watch and apple tv have stopped working after beta updates. My guess is it has something to do with the wifi 7 router. Anyone else having the same issue?

The issue is reproducible when the Wi-Fi 7 router is configured for WPA3 Compatibility Mode (WPA2/WPA3 Transition Mode). The issue disappears when the router is configured for WPA3 Only, regardless of whether the SSIDs are merged or separated.
