Beta 2 appears to have fixed it.

I’m surprised to see this thread has not been made a sticky whereas the WatchOS26 beta thread is . . . 🧐

Just an observation, nothing more . . .

Oddness. I just updated to beta 2. Watch says it's now up to date, version 24R5305g. It shows the changed app face with a menu icon for non-recent apps. However, the watch app on the phone shows that the update is still "installing" and has same version.

Anyone else?

ETA - I've rebooted watch and phone.

I don’t know if this beta will eventually download the new Siri app, but there’s definitely hints of it. The Siri settings in the iPhone Watch app has the new Siri icon, and in storage settings it lists a Siri app that’s 3.6mb.

but seems not active - at least on my Watch 11 the old Siri is still up ... no traces of the Siri App on the Watch

Any changes/improvements compared to first beta?
beta 2 seems to run even smoother than beta 1 did in comparison to iOS26. Seems like iOS27 is getting better and better. I see this as being the best iOS to come out in a long time for 13 series iPhone users. I still have to run this beta 2 on my Mint Green 12 mini to see whether or not this iOS is worth running on an even older platform. I can say for the 13 Pro Max/13 Pro users as well as the iPhone 13 and 13 mini users, that iOS27 is a game changer for these devices.

Yes they won't be getting Apple Intelligence but then you still have Chat GPT, Claude, and Gemini that you can use. The main thing is getting to have the new iOS installed and working very well is the main point so that these users can still receive security updates as well as iOS support for many years to come. A win for these users in my opinion.
