pompous a**holes...i.e. when someone asks a question that is responded with a sarcastic, superority-complexed remark posted by someone who was probably picked last in dodgeball in gradeschool.

Sorry that some people don't know everything there is to know...if that weren't the case, there would be no reason for forums, correct?

yeah..

Listen here noob. I like my pompousness and I was the guy who got you out in dodgeball. :D

This would be my entry for a new MR logo. Look more at the concept than the execution. It needs a bit more work and obviously some colour, maybe a less harsh typeface too.

I like the concept.

You know how you want to bitch slap the baddie on TV? Here we have the Ignore feature.

Spoken like someone who still has pimples and has to wear shorts 'cos mom said. :D

haha this is quite pathetic.. People cannot even post their negative opinions anymore without being criticized.

GGGGGGGGGet a life

Haha..I'm going to have to become pretty familiar with this feature.. thanks

I don't like having to click to get to the next page of a thread, I know it would cause longer load times, but having all the thread posts on one page would be convenient and make for faster searching within the thread a la command-F.

Also, having a page which has every news story from MacBytes, iPhone new Macrumors, and Macrumors Page 2 would be convenient as I click around to read all of those. I agree TouchArcade rightfully deserves its own page.

..and moving my diaphragm to breathe is such a pain in the arse...

All the questions about "Why does only one speaker work on my iPhone?"

Seriously what are we up to? 3 a day?

That question is annoying I agree, but it's caused by a design flaw in the iPhone. (Gosh, did I really just say that?)

Seriously, it's an 'affordance' issue: The mic looks like a speaker, so users reasonably expect it to act like a speaker (especially as their past experience tells them that speakers often come in pairs)

Long-winded blurb at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Affordance

Oh yeah, what do I hate here? Forum Spy. It's hatefully irresistable - and I have little enough self-control as it is :)

on the first post and report it, suggesting a more informative title.

You obviously did not read the rest of my post. If you did, you would realize that the part you quoted had nothing to do with the complaint that I was making. If you did read it, you would notice that the point I was making is if there was a preview, then posts with titles such as; "i need help" or "what did i do" would allow one to preview the post to see if it was worthwhile to open the thread to read it, or just ignore it, like i do most of the time anyway.
its color not colour and rumors not rumours
Lastly, the new marketplace rules suck.

I dislike the bland and boring design of the main site and the bland and boring forum skin.

There's no colour, it's awful. At least have a more modern alternative.
Also, enable rep!

I like the basic color and feel... it is unobtrusive and functional
The shell is not the experience for me
It just needs to do its job and stay out of the way of the substance

I think it does that quite well
I don't want to be distracted by bells and whistles

I wouldn't be opposed to options for those who don't feel that way
But I would hate to be locked into a gaudy interface

I still can't believe there is a "U" in this thread title.

Maybe where you guys live, but this is an international site. Accept the fact that different spellings will turn up from different English speaking regions.

I read your whole post. A tooltip won't help. If you're ignoring it, you're not helping to solve the issue. Reporting posts is by far the best thing you can do to help. It takes seconds to do.

Lastly, the new marketplace rules suck.

And why do you think that? Because you don't qualify? Accept it, qualify it, and start using it. The rules won't change back.

I dislike not being able to pause forum spy. Sometimes it updates too fast when I'm trying to click on a link. That's especially annoying on the iPhone.

I also would like the forum skin updated. Now that we know arn makes plenty of money from the site, pay someone to graphically update it!

just moves so darn fast!

Not something I "hate", but...

Related to the above issues, if you have asked for urgent help and it falls off the front page of the Spy your chances of a reply go down dramatically, but still the response times are usually phenomenal.

yea this site tends to be really really quick for responses compared to other forums i visit

In fact I often chat realtime with the person who is having a prob - it is like a remote access in some ways as we reply to each other and test things out

People whining about tiny things that annoy them annoy me :)

A thread of (mostly) people nitpicking little things they don't like sounds like a good idea? -__- :p

One thing that has bugged me for a while is the site is based on a company known for its beautifully designed products, yet MacRumors is bland and boring. The brownish buttons are so flat and boring and the MacRumors icon is so bland. Why not make the site buttons look more like the Apple site's. It'd even be nice if MacRumors looked more like Me.com or the web galleries.

MR is a little bland...it could be time for a bit of a revision. I liked the OS X theme way back in the day.
