If you haven't already check out "Bronson" with Tom Hardy playing the lead character. Or another one that is good, is "American Me". While it is an older film, it is pretty darn good. Last one, I promise, check out "Bad Boys" with Sean Penn. Good film.
Yup, I watched and wrote about Bronson here:

Very dark film surrounding a very eccentric man.

I plan on tuning into ‘Felon’ tonight, which looks rather good, suggested by @Mefisto.

I don’t plan on ever going to prison, but with watching all these films, I just might survive.😁

Watched the new cut of "Justice League" aka the Snyder Cut. I won't spoil anything, but to me it really didn't improve upon the story we have already seen. Yes there is some additional footage... I will leave it at that for now.

Just some additional footage?. Almost the whole thing is 'some additional footage' -- over 3 hours worth. There was very little of the theatrical version in this.

I thought it improved on the original by leaps and bounds but to each their own.

Watched Cherry on ATV+ last night. Long at 2:20 minutes. It’s really well done, felt like I was reading a graphic novel. Lots of dark humor from the Russo brothers and of course Tom Holland is a top notch actor. It’s told in acts and goes to the darkness of addiction, where the length of the movie really started to be felt. Keep an eye open for the alternative names of the banks.

Felon [2008]

Really interesting movie on prison life. The opening scenario is a man (Stephen Dorf) who tries to protect his family from an intruder in the house, but ultimately killed him when the intruder is outside the house trying to escape, therefore the homeowner is convicted of manslaughter.

Once the man is in prison, he’s forced to fight other inmates if he wants to survive, which is more of a ‘kill be killed’ type of scenario.

Val Kilmer has a role in this movie, who actually I thought did a really good job. The only main criticism I have about the movie is that it literally looks like it was filmed on an iPhone 6s, very shaky camera work, and the editing could’ve been a bit better. But since it’s from 2008 with a low budget that was filmed in a total of 27 days, it gets a pass. But definitely worth watching.

[Thanks Mefisto for the recommendation].

Glad you liked it. Apparently those gladiator-type fights were a real thing at the Corcoran prison sometime in the 90s. Crazy stuff.

Hey, but on the bright side: the score is now pretty terrible. Unlistenable dumpster fire.

‘Zack Snyders’ Justice League [2021]

Ok, everyone here is aware of the brutal chastising of the original ‘Justice League’ I did watch all four hours of the extended version of this film, but I didn’t in one sitting, it was into pieces.

If you’re not a fan of the first film, I would honestly give this a second chance, obviously when Snyder added as much content as he did into the extended uncut version, you have a lot more of a backdrop of the characters, narrative, which all come into place, which actually works really well for this movie. But... what doesn’t work and what ultimately makes this movie fail, is the script writing/dialogue is absolutely atrocious. From the mismatched banter between Alfred and Bruce Wayne, between the other characters chemistry, nothing flows consistently whatsoever. The only character I actually thought was semi-humorous and witty was Barry Allen [A.K.A-‘The Flash’].

At no point during the four hours of the film, did I ever feel like just turning it off, I really did like the backstory of the Cyborg and how he became the ‘Cyborg’, or how Aquaman evolved, etc. I do have to say, I’m not the biggest fan of Ben Affleck as Batman, however; he did make a good Bruce Wayne with the overall look and how he presented himself. that’s really what your re-watching here, is more of the main story plot elements and character development spliced together, but since I watched it for free, I generally don’t have that many complaints other than what I mentioned with the script writing.

YES! Just watched this as well, the full 4 hours.
I truly hated the original theatrical cut. It was seriously bad and confusing. I actually regretted that I spent my time to watch it.

The Snyder's cut is different. Sure, the beginning feels slow, but it makes sense as you do need to flesh out each characters first. Unlike the MCU, Justice League didn't have the luxury of having separate individual movies for the characters other than Superman and Wonder Woman (and partially Batman). Cyborg became from just a stand-in character that happened to be there into a real actual hero with back story, growth, and development. Aquaman is the only one lacking other than more tidbits explaining things that will happen in Aquaman movie, but he did get his own movie later.

This is really a fan service for DC fans, who had been disserviced by WB for the longest time. I am glad Zack Snyder persevered and delivered one of the best DC movie to date. Snyder's vision of Justice League 2, 3 (until 5 I think) seems to build up into a very rich cinematic experience, possibly moreso than the MCU. Alas, the WB executives decided to ignore this.

Couldn't agree more. I hated, hated, the 2017 JL. The ZS cut allowed you to see he had a master plan for the DCEU and actually made me more forgiving of issues with MoS and BvS. If he had been put in charge of the DCEU we might not have gotten whatever the hell Wonder Woman 1984 was.

Watching this movie in the theater single handily kicked off my desire to have good audio at home. The sound design of this in our recently redone IMAX theater was one of the most memorable experiences of my adult movie going life.

I saw it once more in the theater and several times since.

Well I have been busy over Covid upgrading my movie watching experience, with atmos, and some decent equipment, including a 4k.blu ray player.

This is my first 4k blu ray, and what a difference the soundtrack makes playing from disk vs streaming.

Still will never replicate that auditorium sound, but it was a lot of fun hearing it close to it's potential again.

I’ve just watched ‘What happened to Monday?’ With Noomi Rapace. I stumbled onto it on Netflix. Really great. Action packed, graphic. Decent story. Somewhat dystopian

Fracture [2007]

It’s been a while since I’ve watched this one, but it’s really well done for the most part. Even though not entirely believable in the sense that somebody could easily have planned a murder around where the criminal justice system couldn’t put the pieces together, but I guess that’s what makes it ‘Hollywood’. Anyways, the plot is about a man (Anthony Hopkins) that murdered his wife, and essentially tries to clear his guilt by leaving investigators without various pieces of evidence they need to convict him, ultimately he tries toy with the prosecutor, (Ryan Gosling) and prove his innocence.

Of course, Anthony Hopkins is the real star here, and does a brilliant job in the movie, and just shows you how clever he is, and cunning enough where age doesn’t really matter when you’re trying to outsmart the ‘bigger picture’.
