I think some of you are being trolled. These guys are making you post pictures and telling you there is something "wrong" when clearly there isn't.

I don't see anyone trolling. Just because one person can't see something and another can doesn't mean the person who CAN see it is trolling.

It's definitely on mine as I thought I had something trapped under or on the screen protector of the rugged case that I have the phone in before I saw this thread. I'd been haphazardly trying to wipe the 'smear' away and later read this thread and thought "Ah...". Having been at work, I didn't get a good chance to properly clean the screen and I hadn't noticed it whilst setting up the phone and my default wallpaper is a space scene (so it's dark.) Once I'd read the earlier pages here I looked again and noticed it appeared to be a quite regular, almost rectangular slightly darker spot in the screen.

Despite some people claiming we're OCD or seeing things, I really don't think that's the case. Perhaps as some have speculated, there are bad batches floating around. I'm also not sure how well this would photograph. It's most noticeable for me when scrolling on websites with light backgrounds like this one and also in the Notes app.

I've previously been using a 6+ for almost a year and the screen didn't have anything like this on it.

My new 6S+ has this issue -- it's pretty apparent on a white background (web page). I probably would have noticed it even without this thread (and I'm not particularly "OCD").

I got the phone on a carrier lease (TMO Jump On Demand), so I'm not as "invested" in the phone's perfection as if I had (literally) invested $750 upfront... though I may be interested in swapping it out down the line, if this is addressed in future production runs.

Please point it out in the picture your responded to here:

what you can see "clearly"?

Edit: also, I am not arguing there aren't some with an extremely slight imperfection, but some of you are acting like it is super obvious in these pictures. Which it is not. Or some implying that those who are claiming to have good screens but not posting pictures are somehow not capable of seeing a defect. Again, seems trollish.

I can see the pressure point (and the stage lighting at the top)? As reported in this thread? Which is what this thread is about? I don't know what else you want me to say? No, it's not as clear as some others in this thread, but to me it is STILL clear. I have a very detailed-oriented eye about such things.

For example, here's my wife's 6s. I returned it as defective.

Can you see anything wrong with it? There will be some of us who can see the issue, and some of us who cannot. Doesn't mean the problem isn't there.

Thus far I haven't seen any 6s Plus devices without the pressure point, no matter what people say when they post their "perfect" screen pictures. Are there 6s Plus devices out there without the problem? Possibly. I just haven't seen one yet.

I'm certainly not going to lose sleep over it. My 6s Plus falls into the "very slight" camp of pressure points/stage lighting. I'll deal with it. After all, iPhone 7 is only a year away. :)

I am just asking on that picture where you said it is clearly there, please circle or indicate where you see this pressure blemish. I don't see the pressure blemish on your wife's phone either. I see the other inconsistencies, but that is not the topic here.

There no pressure point issue on my wife's 6s. I don't think the 6s suffers from this. I'll get to a computer shortly and draw an arrow for you on those two images.

Please tell me what's wrong with my wife's phone, that you see?

It's ABSOLUTELY the topic here: some people simply don't have the visual acuity to distinguish an issue that's there. Frankly, I wish I were one of those people. :)

Looking more closely now, I actually see the little shadows on both sides of the bottom of the screen (left and right edges). It does look like components or brackets under there.

Nope. Nothing on my screen. I have it on a white background and maximized the brightness. I don't see any blemish or shadow of component in the background or foreground of the screen.

I see some clouding or whatever you want to call it in the upper part. I don't think it would bother me too much though. And believe me, I can be OCD for these things. I returned at least 5 brands of LCDs for nasty backlighting from the corners in dark scenes before I finally wised up and went high end plasma. I just think it is being preeety nitpicking with this "blemish". But it is an expensive device, and some will pursue their perception of perfection.

All, I think I know what caused those issues. If you look at both pictures of the LCD in 6S+ and 6+.

The one on 6S+ has those black pressed spots all around the border while 6+ doesn't. That is probably why one picture that has the pressure point all over the top. This would make sense. Those pressed spots are to sandwich the pressure plate to the lcd for the 3D Touch. This is probably why some are bad while others are ok and some don't even have it. Just like laptop lcd or desktop lcd. They do have some degree of pressure points around the borders. Unfortunate, that is the flaw of LCD.

I feel like there's no difference in exchanging five brands of LCD for uneven backlighting (remember, most people don't care!) and wanting a phone that costs this much to not have an issue when the 6 Plus didn't.

It's all in the pursuit of "perfection," sure. But still...

Anyway, there are other factors at play here. I'm looking at these pictures on a calibrated 5K iMac. That makes a difference. If you're using a TN LCD to look at these photos, you likely won't see much of an issue at all.

I guess that could be the case. Anyways, those that are happy, stay out of here. Crazy world.

The brackets don't appear to be anywhere near the blotch/pressure point though.

I mainly notice the mark on my screen whilst scrolling too. It's quite annoying.

FYI - Here is my 6S Plus. I did take a suction cup and gently pulled up in that area. It helped. It's nearly gone now. FWIW.

Nah. That's the glass itself. A "defect". Mine doesn't have anything wrong with the glass. It's something hardware inside pinching the screen. A clip or something attaching the lcd.

My replacement also had the same issue at the Apple Store so I didn't accept it. Everybody I spoke to recognized it as a problem. The inventory manager also said that this should be covered by the 1 year warranty if a fix does arise.
