I used to use TV apps to watch YouTube at night before sleep, but the ads got so bad that I put together a cheap computer just to watch via Brave.
If YouTube (Alphabet/Google) wants more money, they should just introduce a cheap plan that does nothing but remove ads with no other features. Make it cheap enough that people will buy it, like $2.99/month, and then they can also save the development costs they spend trying to fight ad blockers back and forth
They did, it’s called Premium Lite. It’s not exactly what you described, but it’s as close as it will ever get.
I understand where you’re coming from, and f*** corporate greed. But those 2.99 and 5.99 prices were never sustainable. How many hours of bandwidth & (most importantly) creator revenue do you think 2.99 every 30 days is gonna cover, realistically?
