upgraded my iPhone 7 to the iPhone 8 Plus.

The camera and all it's features are just insane. :) :)
Love portrait mode.

Love it!

( I would not go from a 7 to the 8. That would be a very, very tiny upgrade and not worth the money at all. But thats just my opninion ofcourse)

Wow, you must really use your phone rarely. Its great that you’re able to get such a “catch” with the iPhone 8.

I use my phone quite a bit actually, just not for photography or gaming and when I'm at work my employer expects me to work not play on my phone. It's not unreasonable to expect a battery to make it through the work day and well into the evening.

I got this wireless charger for my 8, it's great to have at work for me to just plop the phone down when I sit at my desk, and then pick it up and go. I haven't got one for home yet because I have too many devices that still need the lightning charger. Also (tinfoil hat please), I worry if the wireless would be bad for my cats that like to sit on the counter where we charge everything. Any insight on it being harmless would be helpful. :)

Anywho, this one is great, but it seems to be going in and out of stock frequently. They must be selling a TON. It's quick wireless enabled (not yet enabled on the phone), but you need a higher W plug to be able to use it (it doesn't come with the wall plug). You can use the standard included with the phone wall plug for the standard speed wireless that's available now until Apple turns on the quicker wireless.

Have had my release day 8 Plus for nearly a week now. Its faster and smoother than my 7 Plus for sure!
Love true tone as well.. it’s been on since day one!
Tried the wireless charging at work today.. didn’t release I was missing out on such convenience!
Thumbs up overall from me (minus the crackle issue!).

So I read most of these posts and it appears that majority of people went with the 8+.. Which I also did. I got the 8+ Gold 256.. and I have to say I love the phone and how fast it is, the camera, etc. BUT I am debating whether or not to switch to the regular 8. I wanted to give the plus a try, because most everyone I know has them now. The screen is nice! I am having trouble getting past the weight/size. Mainly the size though. I have small hands and I knew that going in, yes. I am not complaining, just not sure the plus is the right one for me. But I will give it a few more days. I see a lot of people who went from regular phones to the plus.. I did it mainly for the better camera, but I am seeing that the 8 camera is also pretty nice. Size is the only thing leaving me unsure, love everything else. In past years I had always said I'd never want a plus phone, so maybe it's just not meant for me. Anyone else on here considering downsizing from plus?

I was in the same position. My upgrade path was 4s>5s>6s>8+. The jump from 5s to 6s was previously the most significant. With the 5s and below, I found myself being able to use the phone one handed quite easily. I still could do it with the 6s but often found myself holding the phone in one hand and using the other to browse. Or tying with two hands in landscape mode.

I am learning to adapt to the 8+ for one handed use and learning my limitations with it as well. I am finding that I can use it with two hands and still be effective with it and it is not awkward for me. Thinking back I also used 6s with two hands so this hasn't been such a horrible transition for me. I wasn't sure if I'd like the 8+ when I got it, but it is certainly growing on me. Pretty quick at that. I wanted the best camera I could get in an iPhone, but not bleeding edge technology that the X will bring. My decision to go with the 8+ has lead me to appreciate the extra screen real estate and the wonderful battery! I think the 8 is still the more practical device for many users, but it depends on your use case and preferences. Give it some time and see if you can get comfortable with it. If not, downsize. Don't get stuck with something you're not completely happy with.

Made it through an entire day, with probably 6ish hours of screen on time and still at 22% battery left! I was on Wi-Fi most of the time though but I definitely didn't try to conserve the battery at all. I also took off my case today. I paid $1000+ for my phone, and I'll enjoy its design. I've done that with every iPhone I've had so far, while they may get scratched and dented, I just love admiring my phone when I look at it. It definitely sounds silly and I expect to be judged for it, but we all have different tastes and opinions :)

I got mine in a cobalt blue uag case. It goes really well with the space gray, nice deep blue and super light weight. Barely adds any weight to the phone

I'm the same re cases. I never had one for my 6s and I have no intention of getting one for the 8 either. People pay a lot for their phones and most look pretty good now so why cover them up?

I love my 8+ went from a 7+ Black to a silver 8+ and think it is a great upgrade there is way more here then people think and the glass back on the silver model looks great and the wireless charging is super convenient. I just didn’t see what the X really offered over the 8+ to justify the extra cost as the only difference is the display which the 8+ already has a amazing display and then face id which is not different then Touch ID when you think about it and may be less user friendly... and animoji which is a gimmick and something that Samsung would market as a feature and Apple spent more time on this then anything else at there keynote ... I also still love the design of the 8 as I think Apple has refined it to perfection.

Well, for replying to emails and taking calls/listening to my work playlist with AirPods + some youtube/fb during my breaks and I get 50% at the end of the day with my 8 plus. That’s why i’m amazed with your 70% on a regular 8.

I love love love mine, it's super fast, loads of memory and looks amazing. I've also got a film protector on the back, something that wasn't possible on the previous versions!

I was hesitant about getting the + over the 8, I’m really happy I did. Yes it’s heavier than I’d like and sometimes my hand cramps up from holding it for so long cos it’s so big but whenever I use my sisters 6, it just feels so tiny now!

I feel like it’s defintely a preference thing, if you can’t get used to it then defo switch to the 8. I make use of the reachability which really helps, especially when I’m using it with one hand. I have noticed that I have to hold the phone slightly differently to the smaller sized one in order to reach the other side of the screen with one hand but it hasn’t been that much of an issue.

I’m a 5ft girl so I have teeny tiny hands and I’m getting used to it now!

If I stay with apple I will go from iPhone 6 to iPhone 8+, still undecided.
That was exactly the move that I did! I went with the space grey and love it to bits. Yes, the back is a bit of a fingerprint magnet, but in all honesty you aren't touching the back when holding or using it, so apart from friends wanting to smear up the back to prove some sort of point, it has remained clean for the most part.

The biggest things improvement wise for me are the larger screen, with true colours for viewing lots of photography on and the exponentially better camera on this baby!

The biggest annoyance is the lack of a headphone jack hole, jeez I hate having to plug in my Audio-Technica's into that dang dongle! I have some expensive bluetooth headphones, but they just don't compare in regards to sound quality, in fact I just gave them to our eldest lad this afternoon, he loves them.

Thanks for the reply, appreciate it.

Yesterday actually we were on a YT crazy for a few hours watching random videos and my battery hit 93%. Your AirPods and bluetooth must suck the life right out of that phone. My 5s would drain about 80% of the battery in 5-6 hours even with airplane mode on. When I travel I always had to charge during the hour layovers just to make sure I made it through the next flight.
