haha - I know this is speculation on speculation and such
but!
I am going to school on august 11th and I need the imac before than. Which way is the best way to get it, if you guys think is possible? Rush deliver online, or brick and morter store?
I agree. I'm also betting that the iMac is no more and will be called just Mac (or even Macintosh).

Hope you're right. If it's early access to Harpertowns in SS Logic Boards I'll be jumping for joy.My guesses:
1) New iMac and keyboard
2) Updated Mac Pro3) Leopard features re-hashed again
- Video card options: nVidia 8800GTS (640 meg), Quadro FX 5600, and ATI HD 2600xt
- 2 gigs FB-DIMM now standard
- dual quad-cores now standard
4) iLife Demo
5) ....one more thing, iLife available today.
😀
Most new models do not arrive for several days to several weeks, especially those with the best specs.
Seems like we've all forgotten about the Cinema Displays. I think Steve will probably open
with a Leopard status update then go on to talk about iLife '08. After that, he'll introduce
the new iMac and maybe something regarding the Cinema Displays and maybe even Macbooks. 😉
OTOH, when the iMac G5 was first introduced, the 20" model didn't arrive in stores for several weeks, IIRC. And most of the current MBPs have yet to arrive. Not to mention when Mac Pro users waited weeks to get models with upgraded video cards.Uh... I bought my iMac G5 w/ iSight the day it was announced at a B&M store.
Palisades Center in West Nyack, NY.
I bet a half a billion baht (thats roughly .83¢) that the big announcment is that Apple (no computer) is outsourcing its personal pc computer division over to some third party company in china and distributed here by dell or hp. Yeah, so there.
While a redesign of the iMac for tomorrow is very likely, and may not be the only announcement, I would strongly advise that all of you who are posting lists of everything that you think will be announced not get your hopes up. Don't forget, last time Apple hosted an event of this sort, all we got was an unimpressive update to the Mac mini, the introduction of the iPod HiFi, and the leather case for the iPod that I think sold about 14 units.
Dumb question and I dont want to go back 29 pages in..but has this event even been confirmed? Or is there overwhelmingly convincing evidence that it will take place?
