14.5 temporary fix for unlocking but we still need UNDERSCREEN TOUCH ID !!! which would make life easier for everyone not just Applewatch users

This "update fiasco" on my Series 3 is getting on my nerves! Never ever have I expected this from Apple. Feels more and more like I'm on Android ...

Can’t get it to show on my 4. Reset, unpaired, everything…

Edit: recently installed a new VPN. Was messing with the download availability.

I don’t see how it would make my life any easier.
you don’t need it you would like it.

Let’s be realistic if you were in Android you wouldn’t get updates on a device this old.
mum sure it’s annoying but the alternative would be to just not support it anymore I guess.

Just updated and this unlock functionality is working great! I usually wait at least couple of weeks before updating in case there are side effects, but this one is worth the risk.

One less reason to wear my other watches..

I have to reset, set up as a new watch, go into photos and make sure none is selected, go to music make sure nothing is selected, go to books make sure nothing is selected, go to podcasts, custom, turn off everything. Go to settings, about and see if you have 3 GB, you should. If not go back and double check all the apps have nothing set to sync.
I’ve done all of that, it never gets higher than 2.6GB free

I finally broke down and went for the update after passing on the last few for fear of losing my exercise data. I have a series 3 watch. Good news - I kept all my data. Bad news - it did take a long time but was a fairly smooth process. Good news - I now have menstrual tracking. Bad news - I’ll never use that being a guy. Good news - I now have phone unlocking while masked. Bad news - just got my second vaccination shot a couple days ago so I’ll be using that feature less though I’m glad it is there. Best part is that I still have all my exercise data.

Still waiting for the elusive feature to control the volume of my Mac from my wrist. Especially while my Air Pod Pros are connected and listening to it. ☠️

Something in this update is killing my battery on my Series 6. On Wednesday, I finished the day with 35% battery (as opposed to 50-65%), despite having been home all day and not exercising. I put my Watch on the charger before going to bed and got it to 100%, and it was 81% when I woke up this morning (usually 92%).

I shut it down and rebooted to hopefully clear out whatever glitch caused this. We'll see how today goes.

I finally got my Series 3 updated after 3 attempts. The first couple of times it seemed that it took so long to download the update to the watch I think other stuff was syncing in the background taking up space. The final time I quickly turned of music and photo syncing as soon as the watch was newly paired to my phone. And then the update downloaded faster too and it all worked.
