What's even funnier is that more than 90% of the worlds computers are Microsofties yet they are still not satisfied enough to simply get on with there life and have to stagnate the world with trying to dominate it all...
Try to say that Apple is a tall poppy in a sea of windows is quite a bit rich... but very entertaining to see the red bull faces angry at Apple being successful with that 10% of world computing. :D

Only in the Anglo-Saxon world, the rest is much more mellow about it or just don't care.

Am I the only one who thinks that the quote takes on a whole new meaning out of context. Maybe it's just my twisted mind. Hope everyone enjoys their new gadget.

I am kinda getting the impression that the majority of people still dont exactly know what an iPad actually is. I think many people believe it is a replacement for a regular desktop or laptop.
For some folks it will be.

Not everyone has the same needs. Some are rather minimal compared to others. Also the intended use will affect the iPad's use. For many travelers, it beats a laptop or NetBook. It all depends on one's needs and expectations.

Androids are gonna crushya!
We'll see.

In the interest of public safety, please don't hold your breath. :p :D

Apple should be forced putting a big red sticker on these toys, saying "NO FLASH SUPPORT! LIMITED WEB-EXPERIENCE."
Do I sense some hostility from you towards the iPad? :D

Again, no one is forcing you to purchase one.

I find it funny that Apple haters thought this device would fail.

I was just thinking the same thing. Of course now that the iPad is selling in huge numbers we will find out Steve Jobs is the Anti-Christ and the iPad is evil demon sent out by Apple to possess and steal the souls of unsuspecting people across the world. Next, stories of Steve Jobs voodoo, Night of The Undead, zombie iPad armies out looking for Adobe software to destroy mumbling HTML 5, HTML 5, HTML 5..............HTML 5.:)

I was thirteenth in line today, but it wasn't unlucky. Got may 32gb 3G and I'm happy so far. No dead pixels, no yellow screen, no backlight bleeding and no rattles. :D

Slightly dissapoitned that the cable is an inch shorter than my iphone 3G, that's really stingy fin apple.

so many apps to play with... So little time.

Read an article last night (can't remember which newspaper it was, I think USA Today...on my iPad no less...or the Wall Street Journal) on the international release. Stats so far:

Over 1 million sold in the US in the first 30 days
200,000 selling per week in the US
International pre-orders alone: additional 900,000

Yep, that's a huge yawn for Apple. I hope they keep getting yawns like this on EVERY product release.

Many people have a "herd" mentality. But hey, if they like their $500+ 9-inch iphone (minus the phone, camera, and portability), then more power to them.

The Ipad Is Not For Everyone...

Crazy people

I wouldn't refuse it only if Steve himself comes to my door and gives it to me free of charge.

Saying that, even then I still wouldn't know what exactly to do with it...

The iPad is not for everyone and doesn't work for everyone. It's certainly not for people like you with ZERO imagination and creativity and whose only talent is to troll to this forums and let your hatred towards Apple be known.

The world doesn't revolve around your thinking and opinion. Just because you wouldn't know what to do with it doesn't mean others won't. Well, go play with your laptop or Android or your PC or yourself (which I suspect you do a lot in front a computer staring at porn) or whatever the hell it is that you do.

Enjoy and have a wonderful time...

People are kinda dumb though. But hey, if they like their 9-inch iphone (minus the phone, camera, and portability), then more power to them.

We really need a Crab apple emoticon for Crab Apples. I have a Touch, yes I know that when I get an iPad later in the year I will be getting a larger more powerful version of my Touch and that is exactly the point. I want the functionality of my Touch with a larger screen so I can watch TV shows I bit-torrent from Channel4 and BBC4, shows like Time Team, The Sky at Night, and the other great documentary shows I don't get to see in the States. Crab apples make great pies so keep on gassing on about how crappy Apple is nobody is listening.

Crazy Hype.
Walked into my local PC World an hour ago.
They've got all models in stock, apparently they've sold 6 so far today... No queues.. nobody even looking at them apart from staff.

Nobody lines up at stores other than Apple's no matter how stocked up those resellers supplies are.

More power to us... Well thank you. The iPad works for us. So whatever gadget works for, then more power to you too.

Because if I'm going to get one I'd want 64GB with Wi Fi + 3G, otherwise £400 would be a waste imo. I've got £500 put aside for the new iPhone and another amount for a new MBP or iMac OR even a Mac Pro if it gets a major update. I'm mentally reshuffling my Apple line-up so I can justify the iPad. It won't hurt to sleep on it and wait a few months I suppose. Although having said that, we'll probably start getting rumors of what the 2011 iPad will be like

Yeah, my MBP is 3 years old now, so was wanting to upgrade it. But the iPad will fill a big chunk of what I use my MBP for, except it's much more convenient and portable. That leaves the heavy duty stuff (in may case, software development), which would really benefit from a bigger screen. So ... I've switched from wanting a new MBP, to wanting an iPad / iMac combo. Should be awesome!

And well done Apple on getting me to part with even more cash... :p

I have to admit I'm surprised how quickly the iPad is taking off. I thought it would succeed, but only when a big wave of new iPad specific apps arrived. It seems to be a roaring success even without them.

"I wanted to touch it as soon as possible. I felt real excitement when it was finally in my hands,"

That's what she said!

Thanks, rest of the world. These image are going to cause several sleepless nights for Apple haters everywhere. Way to do your part! :D

In the Exeter store, UK. Just helping myself to using one of the many iPads. Have to say I'm impressed over all but they are a little heavier than I expected. Other than that they are an absolutely beautiful piece of hardware. If only I wasn't a damn uni student...

Ipad Phoenix

Has anyone in the Phoenix az area signed up for 'notify me', if so have you had any luck in getting an ipad and roughly how long did it take.

What's worse (for them), they really really want an iPad but buying one would mean they have to admit to themselves how stupid they are! There is one reporter at the Daily Mail in Britain who just shot himself massively in the foot - he wrote a one page apple hater article in the Daily Mail, all the required ingredients like the "drooling acolytes" (I guess he used Dictionary on the Mac to spell big words like this correctly), so now he never, ever can be seen with an iPad in his whole life.

Hi,

I wasn't planning to get one until the next generation, but since my iBook screen connection snapped I have been thinking about it. Just need something for email, forums, and banking. But for another $500 I could get a Macbook...

Still thinking...

I see...so thats where all the US iPads went. couldn't find any anywhere!

Apple loves europe.
