Well, this is the first article I've read that doesn't make the iPhone 7 seem like a total piece of junk. I'm still going to skip it though, at this time there just aren't enough decent (or rather, decently priced?) non-3.5mm headphones available.
I never put my phone in a case. Also if it gets the same carbon coating as the Space Black watch it'll be a huge bonus. And you're going to put it in a case
NOBODY IS FORCEING TO BUY IPHONE OR ANY OTHER PRODUCTS.. WHY U GUYS ARE BLAMEING APPLE AND OTHERS.. RUMORS ALWAYS WILL BE RUMOR.. GROW UP GUYS
With an included 3.5mm to lightning adapter, what are you really missing out on? The ability to use wired headphones while charging your device? There have been numerous articles posted over the past few months talking about the rumor of Apple removing the 3.5mm jack. If you look back at those articles, the numbers of responses are astounding and the vast majority of responses are from people furious about the potential (probably imminent) 3.5mm jack removal.
The 3.5mm jack is a universal standard across laptops, automobiles, desktops, music players, stereos, mobile phones, tablets, even in-seat audio jacks on most passenger airlines. Removing this standard is a complete slap in the face to millions of consumers who have spent a lot of money on high quality headphones, earbuds, speakers, etc. that all use the 3.5mm standard.
I know people love to compare removing the 3.5mm jack to eliminating the old floppy or CD, but those were upgrades to new standards embraced by the entire computer industry as a move forward in technology and convenience.
If removed, Apple will have taken away a reliable open standard, replacing it with their proprietary standard, and I'm confident virtually no other equipment manufacture will ever embrace Lightning (I'm not talking about headset/earbud manufactures, I'm talking about other desktop, laptop, tablet, stereo, phone, automobile, music player, and aircraft manufactures). You are never going to see widespread acceptance of Lightning on other devices.
With this potential bonehead decision Apple does not move us forward, they lock us into a standard they control/own and move us away from the mainstream into a segregated solution that is not even available on Apple’s own computer line ... which coincidently uses the 3.5mm audio jack.
So what might Apple give us in return, maybe they shave a faction of a millimeter (bid deal) from the phone's thickness, and/or maybe we get a second (or better) speaker because they want us to believe we need some kind of so-called “stereo sound”. It’s pathetic!
Give us back the 3.5mm jack and keep your second/improved speaker. We don’t need a so-called stereo in our pockets.

Nice but I'll bet any money the price increases will now be $150. When Apple went from 32 to 64 it's clear it was all about raising ASPs. I'm sure a lot of these owners now are using up most of that space. Downgrading to 32GB won't be an option so they'll spend the $50 for 128 even if that might be overkill. And with these new storage options Apple won't have any incentive to touch iCloud pricing.Nice to see that 32GB looks to be the new minimum instead of 16GB. I've been wanting that for several years now. 16GB is too small for me ad 64GB is a bit more than I need. The 32GB is the sweet spot for my needs.
Also will be interesting to see the proposed new black colors. Though I'm not looking to upgrade this year, it could be something we'll see in 2017 as well.
and a new colour.A huge upgrade just on the camera is enough for Apple to generate a couple of hundred million in free advertising via the media on Wednesday....Um Yea - a camera upgrade is enough to drive people to buy....
What would you consider innovation in phone design? Curved screen? All glass? No bezel? All smartphones are essentially the same now. Pretty much every android OEM does unibody aluminum now. People complain but never really say what they want (except the impossible). My reason not to upgrade is lack of 3.5 mm jack and lack of innovation in overall design. Before iPhone 6S series I've owned every single iPhone model. I don't see the point anymore. I hope 2017 (10th anniversary) is the year to get excited about iPhone again.
I thought increasing pixel count would require more powerful graphics and decrease battery life. So I have not been able to come up with an answer to why is it important to increase the pixel count. What am I missing?
This is a good one!I always do. Always forget charging overnight, then the phone just about makes it to work, and then I plug it in and listen to music at the same time.
The only thing left is a piano in rose gold![]()
How much are EarPods if you buy them from Apple? How much are lightning to usb cables from Apple? All included in the box so I don't really understand what you are getting at. I think the reason there are no adapters with the rMB is because there are so many different adapters they could have bundled, you know? If they included a usb3 adapter why not include an hdmi adapter? Why not a sd card reader? See what I'm saying?"- No headphone jack, with Apple providing both Lightning EarPods and a Lightning to 3.5 mm jack adapter in the box."
yeah, just like rMB came with an adapter in box for using regular USB... Oh wait.
No way in hell Apple will give you one for free when it can sell you one for 30 dollars.
As there is no way for me to link my phone to my car and charging too (I do that often as I drive a lot and like to listen to audiobook during), I'm out this Gen, might give Android a try finally
WATERPOOF, FASTER CPU, IMPROVED CAMERA SENSOR AND LENS, IMPROVED SENSOR, EXTRA BATTERY LIFE, NEW SOUND AMPLIFIER, DUAL CAMERA.. this feature are enough to UPGRADE UR PHONES
My amplifier and speakers are over 20 years old and work absolutely fine. And from all I hear, there is no real advancement in the quality of good stereo amplifiers and the quality of good speakers. If I feel like it I will add an AirPlay adapterAnd I seriously doubt that any audio equipment bought today will be in use in decades.
Ah. you found the Caps Lock. that is reassuring, I was worried for a moment.NO COMPANY , NO PRODUCTS are not really near to perfect.. and not even single human being can satisfy every human being in whole universe..
hmmmm, such anger. What about the millions of us who didn't spend hundreds of dollars on high quality head phones? I think we will be fine with Bluetooth.

It doesn't really matter how this affects YOU personally, but how it will affect millions of others. Just because you're not any worse off, doesn't mean you can't admit that it's a stupid idea. I'm exaggerating here, but that's like saying "war is perfectly fine, as long as it doesn't hurt me"![]()
Free adapter ? Apple must be worried about backlash. #nojackgate

And here http://www.audioweb.ro/oferte/vizualizare/scott-r-316-receiver/ is a link to someone selling a used Scott receiver - the exact same on as I bought with my first hard earned money. I gave mine away to buy something better, which I always regretted. This one is close to 40 years old and working just fine. Probably will work fine for another 40 years.
I believe that from next February the Bahamas immigration are checking tourists' phones for the headphone jack. If you're unlucky enough to have a phone with a jack... next plane home!I have to admit that I was very unhappy when I first heard the rumours about Apple losing the headphone jack. Now, however, I've changed my mind and I think it's a great idea!
Why? Because it's made me realise that I'm not going to be upgrading my, and my wife's, iPhone 6s this year. I've realised that there's absolutely no reason to do so. And with the money saved we're putting it towards two flights to the Bahamas for next March. So cheers Apple
