3.5" WAS the perfect size in 2007 when it was released. Fast forward 7 years...people's tastes and behavior have changed. Who would've thought such a thing could happen? SHOCKING!

 Really? Was it 2007? Or was it 2012 when Apple released this ad:

www.youtube.com/watch?v=O99m7lebirE

And your comment has nothing to do with what I SAID. I'm referring to the hypocritical fanboys that kept crying that they didn't want bigger phones until September 9th of THIS year.

If they are not to loose the massive opportunity they have in the education market they need better support for a stylus, removable storage and much easier setup. The IT admins in schools in the UK are generaly so anti-apple already and Samsung are pushing very hard to get in there..

I think this is a massive turning point for tablets int eh home if Apple were to let this slip, currently they are no1 choice but i worry for how long, there doesn't seem to be much dedicated Apple education initiatives. I hope I'm wrong, am fed up with cheap crappy laptops in schools , no point replacing them with cheap tablets .

Hate to split hairs but that's a 4" display, not a 3.5".

Regardless it's still the ''thumbs'' argument. Apparently humans have evolved bigger thumbs in less than two years?

Too many fanboys drinking the kool-aid.

I hate when people say, ''oh no, this feature isn't cool''. Apple puts it in, ''tastes change''. Well apparently a lot of fanboys like degraded quality due to iOS bugs and the ''bendability'' feature. Imagine if Samsung had all of the issues that Apple's having right now.

There are a large amount of people that are absolutely hypocritical. They don't say, ''hmm...nice feature. Would be cool if it were on iOS''. Nope, said feature is archaic and doesn't matter. Until Apple says it's worth it.

Wow, the 12.9" inch iPad will be 30% larger than the 13" MacBook. Nice rendering!

I'm not sure, though. Stylus and removable storage would be great, but I don't see Apple doing that anytime soon. Especially not when Samsung end up releasing another set of ads saying how Apple ''copied''.

Though this new TimApple is something that's full of surprises. I would love an s-pen like feature on iPad with multitasking. I'd asplode! :apple:

The ipad Air 2 doesn't seem to be generating much excitement this time

I see no compelling reason to replace my iPad 3. I have an iPad air I got for free from a course I went to and I really have no preference between devices (except the iPad 3 has iOS6 on it which I prefer). Apple really needs to kick up their own software on the iPad in order to bog it down more so that people will upgrade, or start leaving out features like they do on the iPhone to get people to upgrade. Split screen multitasking may be a good way to accomplish this

Samsung are always having issues with their phones - it's old news so not worth reporting all the time so we never see it.

I personally am sad to see the "death" of the 4" flagship smartphone as I have small hands. The people who thought it was the "perfect size" and want a flagship phone now don't have a choice any more, so they're not hypocrites for upgrading at all.

It's also not just about what features a phone has - it's how it does it. Whoop de doo the Atrix had a fingerprint scanner before the iPhone - thing is though it was **** so no one used it. Apple is seldom first with something, but when they do do it they tend to do it better than the rest, which is why people suck it up.

Again, it's not what it does, it's how it does it that counts.

You measure a screen diagonally. A 12.9 inch widescreen will be less tall than a 12.9 inch 4:3 screen.

well the 16:10 screen would be longer and shorter. This render makes it look like the iPad screen would be larger in all dimensions. Maybe its just the perspective since its being viewed at an angle on the render with the macbook display further away

If it has stylus it's an instant buy for me. If not I'll skip. iPhone 6 Plus and my MacBook Pro are enough.

YuFu Pro UltraFine Stylus has a thin 1.9mm tip with 4048 levels pressure sensitivity, Gyro sensor and other stuff.
Also as a plus - it is compatible with other tablets.

Well, fair enough. They make good panels. I’d buy their smart TVs if that didn’t mean I’d have to use their terrible embedded software.

Actually, Android manfs. destroyed the 4'' smartphone. Which is something that I don't like what Apple copied. Samsung releases the Galaxy Mini phones, but they are all vastly underpowered.

And the comment about Apple tending to do it best (*ahem* bendablity, iOS 8.0.1 fiascos) some companies have already done many parts well before Apple. Samsung has been able to make a great 5.7'' phone that feels smaller than the 6 Plus. This isn't the SJobs era Apple. And after tons of lawsuits, companies are not fing around anymore. Apple still tends to be better with execution overall, but we'll see in the next couple years. Competition is fierce and no one wants to leave monies on the table.

iPad Pro. I don't get it... What's the advantage of having more screen real estate on an iPad? A laptop running a full OS sure, but a tablet crippled with a feature-missing mobile OS?

This is why you could never work for Apple. No imagination. :p

In a way I agree with you. This whole bendability, 8.0.1, and other things going wrong makes me worried.

On the other hand, I've had my 6+ over a week and love the phone. I've never encountered any of the issues, even when rolling over my phone accidentally at night, the phone works and doesn't bend. The only thing is I wish they would fix some software bugs, that's the only thing that really lacking the 'Apple Quality'.

There seems to be a sad contingent of Apple fans that inevitably get their collective panties twisted whenever Samsung is mentioned as a supplier for Apple. This I don't understand. Apple doesn't seem to care enough not to use them. So why should we? In the end, it's business. It always has been. It always will be. Apple will use whomever they have to use to continue generating profit... moralizing be damned.

I personally don't give a hoot about who's components are inside as long as the final product meets my expectations. If it's Samsung's components, so be it.

A lot of people aren't mature enough to grasp that concept unfortunately.
