Apple has shown several times that they're not afraid of cannibalizing their own product lines. The iPad ate into Mac sales, and the iPhone all but killed the iPod. And as popular as the iPad is, it still pales in comparison to the iPhone. So if the iPhone 6 Plus pulls a few people away from buying an iPad Mini, it's no sweat off Apple's back.

A lot of smart people have pointed to the picture that Apple showed at the iPad event--the one showing all of their product lines--and said that Apple's strategy isn't that you own one of everything, but that there's at least one product in their line up for everyone. From the Apple Watch up to the Mac, Apple has a competitive product in their lineup that can fit at least one of your computing needs.

Want just a phone? Apple will sell you a phone.
Want a watch, phone & laptop? Apple has all 3.
Watch, phone, tablet & desktop computer? Absolutely.

Oh, yeah, by the way, they also have a huge ecosystem behind their products that enables you to do some amazing things. Though it's not perfect, it's getting better.

I agree, I just think if people think that if the 6+ is going to increase sales, it might for some but again it might also reduce sales in another area.

phablets just aren't for me. I had a note 2(same size as the 6) but I always had it was just a little too large for hands. I did enjoy the nice screen size for video and reading my kindle books but I needed something smaller.

I have a 6 and the size is perfect. I thought about getting aplus but it was just too damn big.

It is interesting that most samsung users want the plus. It just shows how a lot of folks brought samsung phones because of the screen size. Apple should have introduced a phablet size iphone 3years ago when other manufactures did so.

Where is that proof? I'd love to read it.

What am I google? lol there are TONs of reports on macrumors stating fact that apple is adjusting their order ratios. For example, multiple reports that the iPad plus delayed so apple could meet demand of iPhone 6+

I like the screen size, I want the image stabilizer camera... but the phone size is way too freaking big for one hand holding-typing.

I switched to an Android because I didn't want anything bigger then my 5c. I wrote Tim even letting him know I was disappointed as are many others that there isn't a 6 mini or minus or whatever you want to call it. Of course he didn't write back. He really does suck as a CEO and I wish apple would get rid of him. He's ruining my favorite brand.

Are supplies of the 6 Plus still constrained? I've been trying to get a regular 6 by keeping an eye on iStocknow. At least in the Bay Area, for the past two weeks I've seen tons of 128GB 6 Plus available, but no 128GB iPhone 6. If you compare the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus charts across all sizes/colors/vendors, the iPhone 6 charts are noticeably sparse in comparison (with the exception of Sprint, which is odd). Are we being delivered a higher proportion of the bigger phones in this area, perhaps?

If anything, my conclusion based on the above was that the iPhone 6 is what's constrained, not the other way around.

One of the main problems with the iPhone 6 Plus (besides the bending) is that it is really just a larger iPhone 6. It does not take advantage of the larger screen like, for example, the Note 4 does. It ads nothing. Also why is its bezel so huge?

Yes I don't know why apple doesn't put their bezels on a diet. Especially the top and bottom ones.

The 9%

I wonder how much of that 9% who bought an older model where either too poor or cheap to buy a 6 or 6 Plus, or simply preferred a smaller mobile phone? 9% of 20+ million iPhones so far is not a small number.

There I was genuinely asking for something and I get ridiculed for it. Why should I google it when you're the one making the argument of how it is, without backing up any data/source to your argument?

And these "multiple reports" of the iPad Pro, are to my knowledge nothing but rumours made by industry analysts.

So much for your "lol".

same in NYC, except the 6+ supplies have dwindled in the last few days as well

Not surprising.

Im wondering if 4" will make a comeback next year. I can understand Apple wanting to increase the display size when everyone else does so, but most of Apples competitors also offer smaller phones.

I have had every iPhone released to date, but Im sitting this generation out. Due to size. (and protruding lens)

Exactly the opposite of the truth.. unless having less PPI, a smaller battery, and no optical image stabilization is a good thing.

The difference in PPI can't be noticed at normal viewing distance, oh, and don't say you can notice because you really can't. Battery, yeah, alright, it's better but not by miles and the OIS is good but I compared the two and couldn't see a major difference, minor, yes.

He sucks because he didn't write you back? Based on the information we're getting, the iPhone 6 and 6+ have been a huge success. The other form factor is still for sale in the 5C and 5S. I'm not sure what exactly you're getting so worked up about. You seem to be in the minority.

I bought my iPhone 6 on release morning at an AT&T store. I wanted the 6+ but they only got two and I was about 12th in line. I bought the 6 rather than leave without anything, thinking that I'd play with it to see if I preferred the smaller size. If I still wanted the 6+, I would either return it within 2 weeks, or give it to my wife. So, yeah, these stats don't really tell an accurate picture until both phones are easily available.

And while even the regular 6 could be hard to find, the 6+ has definitely been much harder to find than the 6.

So much for your "lol".

No different than this article "poll" that US customers prefer 6 over 6+... all speculation and rumors.
Whatever, what do we care anyway. Enjoy your phone. bye.

I don't know why anyone wouldn't want the 6 plus. I guess to each their own.

I didn't either until I used both for a couple weeks. Ended up keeping the + and returning the 6 to work. I use the + a lot during meetings and type long emails on it. It's more convenient than my laptop in many situations now. If it wasn't for work, I'd probably have gone with the 6.
