Not sure if anyone here is bilingual, I am, EVERY time I try to reply to a text message the language is set to the wrong one. If I reply to a conversation in English the language is set to Italian, if I reply to an Italian it is set to English, I try to change it and it doesn’t change, I decide to just send a quick audio and it doesn’t let me send it until it has tried to transcribe the voice into text, which it fails if I speak Italian with the English keyboard. It’s a joke.
My partner stopped using the watch for messages all together because of this mess.

Same issue. My region is Romania, by default, iPhone sets English Uk and Romanian. Watch copies those two but in watchOS 8, most of the time I can’t get it to do the transcribe correctly. In the past i used to long press and choose a language.

Well, yes, but first of all, it’s extremely annoying and time consuming to change la gauge every time, second thing is that often you select the other language but it doesn’t change it.
The solution would be very simple honestly, start with the same language used in the conversation.

second solution, if I record a voice message, let me press send as audio Immediately without having to wait for the Watch to convert it to text. Also because if you dictate in English while the language is set to Italian or another language it will try for like 30 seconds and then fail.
Messaging on the watch is just not possible for me

Yep, removed possibility to send voice messages and now it goes by default to scribble, because who doesn’t use scribble as default, right?
So to dictate a message now you have to do two steps.

Are they drunk when they come up with these ideas??
What are you referring to the Voice Memos app or the ability to dictate in the messages app? At any rate, they are both still there. Neither have been removed.

After updating watch OS battery was at 99%. After few minutes with watch still on charger it has gone down to 84%. This is on watch 4. Anyone else seeing this?
Hm.. I have the SE. Usually when I go to sleep, I have over 50-60%. Its dinner time and I'm down to 34%. Seems to be going down right now even though I'm not using it much.. Guess we'll see tomorrow after a full charge.

Edit: Thinking about it now, maybe it was the hour plus of the phone trying to send the watch OS update that drained the battery. The drain rate from when I posted till now seems okay. We'll see tomorrow!

I’m on AW4, and I noticed a slight increase in battery drain.
Normally I’m at 100% when going to sleep, and at 85% when gett up.
on WOS8, I’m at 79% in the morning…

I already feel sorry for watch 3 owners like my mom who have to effectively wipe the watch* to upgrade. It's beyond her capabilities so I end up having to do it for her. Seriously, Apple, there needs to be a better way than this.

*fixed wrong word
buy your mom a new watch that’s what I did lol

A year of waiting and two new lame faces? that's all we get? and dumb ones at that...even the new v7 watch itself only has a new face or two. why is Apple so stingy with faces, and why no new cool "real watch like" faces? It's bizarre.. ☹️

Referring to being able to record and send a voice message, it’s gone. Only text nthe

This is defintely there. if you click the A down towareds the bottom. It will take you to a second screen On that screen you see an icon with several lines. Click that and you can speak a message.

how is that even possible ... Watch needs to be ON charger and charging before WatchOS can be updated to it. There is no battery draining.

For some reason I stopped getting Move, Exercise and Stand goal completion notifications after updating my series 3 to watchOS 8. All other notifications from apps, the stand reminder and coaching notifications are still coming through though. Tried toggling goal completions on/off, and rebooted both iPhone and watch and still haven't gotten it to work. Really wanna avoid unpairing. Not really a big deal but hoping its a bug that will be fixed in the next update
